Personally I never bought into the climate change alarmist hype, have always viewed it as a way for those statists who want to rule us to get another toe hold in their attempt to do so. What I found interesting in this article is the degree to which agriculture and manufacturing contribute. And yet we never hear much about it beyond jokes about cow flatulence. All the scorn is heaped upon consumers, especially American consumers. I view that as further evidence the statists are not so much concerned about climate change as they are about gaining control over society.Have some family in California who put up solar panels to provide electricity for their retirement lifestyle. Electric bill is about $50 to $100 a month depending on how much electricity they use. It’s a pretty cool system. However, they spent $38,000 for what they have and actually need to add more panels to get it to 100% of their electricity needed. It makes no economic sense to do this as they will never recoup what they have spent. Probably need another $10,000 to finish the job. It’s got to change but it won’t. I think they’re probably saving $3 to $400 per month so maybe after 15 years they’d break even. Of course, I don’t know what it does for the value of the house when they sell it. The upfront costs would prevent many from even thinking about doing it. Maybe the house value would solve the math.
Last year California mandated that all new homes have solar panels installed starting in 2020. To do this, they would have to kill themselves since our bodies are composed of lots of carbon which we use daily.Always end the discussion with "when I see you and all the people crying about carbon based industries actual stop using items made with some form of carbon derived from petroleum products, then I'll believe your serious.
