im getting worried tax reform is getting pushed aside. I understand we are 11 days in, and he is checking off his campaign promises, but when asked about tax reform, Trump's people are noncommittal now, which worries me. This needs to happen in 2017.

I also have little faith in the GOP congress to not **** it up somehow.

We finally agree! I need my tax break so I can support some wing nuts in the midterms! Let's get this party started!

Until the Cabinet gets confirmed there are limits to what Trump can accomplish.

Oh, I agree...but he will need to set Congress' priority, I'm just afraid he's going to let this one slide.

It would be as monumental as brining peace to the Israeli/Palestinians if he wiped out the thousands of tax laws.

How many high powered jobs would be wiped out by this? It would make your accounting degree worthless.

He will need congress and they are focused on the Obamacare repeal. There are also major differences of opinion within the party and outside the partyon how to proceed with tax reform that will take time to iron out. Trump has already stated that current proposals are too complicated and he favors a simpler approach more in line with what Cruz and Paul have suggested while the house has made rough drafts that include complicated loopholes.

This will be the first test for "draining the swamp" as establishment politicians on both sides will try and use this to placate special interests who want exploitable loopholes they can use.

Dems will push for loopholes in clean energy, the arts, Silicon Valley and with those involved with education while pubs will no doubt have loopholes for big oil, military contractors, and certain corporate entities like Koch.

Trump himself will be pushing very hard for favorable terms for manufacturing and those who are employing Americans and building things in America. He will absolutely double down as well and push for increased rates on companies that outsource.

I don't see this getting off the ground until late 2017/early 2018. Too many vultures wanting a share of the carcass.

Agree. I am also concerned that obama screwed the pooch so bad on Obamacare that a replacement right now may not work. (Editorial note: I know very little about the ins and outs of the health insurance industry)
