Whatever line that may be, but what does our response look like? No more North Korea? Pyongyang first? I can't imagine ground troops would be used unless the nukes and whatever chemical weapons were accounted for.

What are their capabilities if Kim Jong un just mashed his fat little hand on all the buttons at once?

gotta eliminate that little bastard

you have to think that and a cattle drive across the border where people could eat would take the starch out of their shorts real quick

I read somewhere (a while ago) that North Korea has so much artillery that they would inflict awful damage on South Korea. Also, the article said they have so much AA (like an insane amount) that an air campaign is a real challenge. I have no idea, but that article sounded like South Korea is %$@#*ed if we ever invade.

All the land mines would turn those cattle into ground beef---easier to cook.

First, as many of you know I am a Republican, but not a Trump supporter........saying that, this whole N. Korea issue is not any fault of President Trump, this has been building since George Bush Sr. presidency if not before, unfortunately it could very well come to fruition under President Trump's watch.
The biggest threat from N. Korea is not their Nuclear weapons, but their Chemical and Biological weapons, they are thought to have huge stockpiles and as crazy as that guy is, the will to use them. At this point it still does not appear that they have the capability to weaponize a Nuclear weapon, but if they don;t , they are very close and will have multiple weapons in a few years, one estimate is around 90 warheads , ballistic missile capable by 2019.
It should get interesting in the next 30 days or so, the US is deploying THAAD to S. Korea and the first batteries should be operational by mid April, the North Korean's have said that they will take the systems out before they become operational, and the most troubling aspect is that China and Russia seem to be backing the North Korean's on that. Once THAAD is operational, the N. Korean Ballistic Missile threat will be seriously down graded.
One big factor, that a lot of people may not realize is that the Korean war is not officially over, no treaty was ever signed, only a cease fire , and the North Korean's will not consider it over until they have unified the entire country under their control

What worries me more then anything about North Korea is the sub they have or are building that can launch a nuclear armed war head. If they could get a shot off at New York they would. I expect it is all a matter of time as they are working their hardest to get nuclear capabilities.

Also Russia and China are actually really pissed at NK. they feel like NK gave the US an excuse to deploy THAAD in S. Korea. Thus it limits them being able to take out Japan or S. Korea with one of their own missiles.

What is the line to cross in this case?
IMO it has already been crossed. The way they treat the people there is horrible. The starvation that goes on there all while this donkey pumps money into weapons is just sick. Also for what what will he do once he nukes the US? I mean they will level N. Korea in a matter of a few minutes after they attack. So once again only the people of N. Korea will suffer. I really wish China would just do the right thing and take him out but they enjoy the buffer state way to much.

If NK launches their sub it likely finds its way to the bottom of the Pacific under "mysterious" circumstances.

I don't think it is just that easy to locate. Now it getting close enough to launch a missile at New York city is probably really difficult but IMO subs are the future of war fare.

Armistice was signed instead of a peace....first of many failures for the UN. As someone else said they have already crossed the line its not exactly what our tolerance is, its what South Korea, Japan and The US feels in concert.

Aside form the B&C weapons, their artillery is the biggest concern and it is posted in caves and reinforced bunkers along the DMZ. If they were to start an actual shooting war once they left those enclosures and had to actually transport soldiers south they would be extremely vulnerable. Their air force gets very little actual flying practice either (read last year they get something like 15 hours of flying a year) they wouldn't last long and assuming we have proficient countermeasures for our air force just don't see them sustain a drive for long.

The wild card, as it was the same in November of 1950, is what will China do?

Everyone gather with me in a circle and sing:

Nothing to see here, and nothing to fear.

I wouldn't be surprised if China and Russia are just using North Korea has a pawn to stir the pot to see what we will do. In the end I agree with Johnny Vito, they will do nothing.
