Question for the lefties: If the Dems take the house in 2018, will Pelosi get the speaker nod?

Seams like it would be a gift to Trump for 2020 if that were to happen, but frankly, I don't see who else might get that nod.

That what you think would happen or what you want to happen? Barbara Lee isn't one of the regular faces of the party, so I frankly don't know where on the political spectrum she falls.

Most likely scenario is the status quo. Barbara Lee is the leading challenger to upset the leadership.

Pilt,

I appreciate the answers. I see Lee is the most likely challenger, is she who you want to get the nod?

Dems wont take the house in 2018, so no need to worry about Pelosi or any other crazy socialist/communist!

I think its a 50/50 proposition right now. Certainly no guarantees given the length of time between now and the election.

Yeah, I'd much prefer Lee to Pelosi or any of the other walking corpses in the current leadership.
She was the only member of the House to vote against the war in Iraq. I like that a lot.

I do think we put far too much emphasis on these matters. The only legislative leaders to make any real difference in my lifetime are McConnell and Newt.

Fair enough. Thanks for the straight answers.
