If California secedes there is going to be a civil war on their doorstep

This makes me laugh because the left will not allow California to secede. They need the 55 electoral votes in presidential elections. California leaves and the democrat party might not get another president for a long time.

/end thread

Minus California, there is no popular vote snipe hunt and the electoral college "landslide" becomes an epic beating.

The value of immigration reform is gone. The celebrity moralizing is even more irrelevant.

Zero chance this happens. And if it DID come to civil war, California's gun laws have ensured its rapid defeat.

This is also exactly the kind of thing that fueled Trump's election.

I agree with the greatest Supreme Court justice of all time. That's why I think the only way it happens is with bloodshed. Which, as I said before, do not expect to happen in my lifetime.

Greatest? Please explain. He supported McDonald v Chicago. If you are a constitutionalist that decision flies directly in the face of constitutional government. Call him a "conservative" or Republican, fine. No argument here. But he's no friend of a constitutionalist.

Only a Californian would think an Oklahoman would give two shits what someone in California thinks or that the US couldn't survive if California decided to secede. I would like to keep Humboldt County though...some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen.

Maybe Oklahoma should secede?

Imagine if we as Oklahomans could extend our conservative excellence in important functions like education and economic development across all of our government? I'd feel pretty good with that stupid federal government out of the way and Mary Fallin, our state legislature and Mr. Pruitt in charge of things. Yessiree, we could finally spread our wings if we could have good conservatives in charge.

Maybe we could get lucky and Kansas would join us? They've made lots of headlines with how great things have gone with their conservative state government.

Well to be fair California is $400 billion in debt so it's not really apples to apples to compare level of services in a state with that debt load vs. one with a balanced budget....those damned conservative principles. Cue brt lecture on why we should have as much debt as possible......

people in California and people in Oklahoma despising each other and their respective cultures. If only this country was intended to have limited federal government and strong individual state characteristics!!! Aarrgghhh!! So frustrating no one thought of that!!!

Donald trump being super scary is because the last few decades have been an executive branch power grab. He only has the precedent that has been set before him and what liberals failed to realize the last 8 years is they were not going to be a dynasty. Now the are living their own nightmare and you can see just how butt hurt brt and sys are. They think California San Fran values are great. We say read a fvcking newspaper and it goes back and forth after that until their sedatives kick in.

Defending California would be difficult. The troops going after Cali would have the high ground coming from the east and down the mountains. They would drive those limp-wristed liberals into the sea. The true winners would be the Great Whites roaming the shoreline.

What is so great about whites? Racist.

I want to jump in here and be recognized as one who has 1) never voted for Mary Fallon and 2) couldn't care less what anyone in California thinks about Oklahoma. I still remember the Brad Henry days when Oklahoma reigned supreme in educating its youth.

I like this idea. OK would go from last to first in the county in teacher pay overnight!
