I think he really believes he can run the exact same race as he did in 2020, play the race card, the threat to Democracy BS, Nazi BS, and win. It gets Joe out of the way, they get a different candidate, they grab back the moral high ground, and fires up the base. They fire the head of the USSS, no loss since she was going to be fired by Trump anyway, no hearings or nothing, open and shut case.
