HS Recruiting News

Ross won 18 to 2 for a tech in the 2nd period. Dreshaun had 4 take downs, an escape and a couple of turns. His opponent wanted to fight after the match. Pretty humbling to get beat like he did. Ross did a cartwheel, backflip after the win.
I finally found Robideau results where he won his section with a tech fall in the semi's in the 2nd period and a tech fall in the 1st period in the finals. His record this year is 42-0.

Oh and Wolbert is an absolute savage. Nicest kid in the world but a killer on the mat. Eventually, the good people on this forum (not the Iowa freaks) will appreciate what we have gotten.
Well, not totally true.

The OSU faction is 100% pumped about this kid.

He just isn’t marketed like certain other guy(s) and isn’t front center of Wrestling media.

He also has a little brother Lincoln Robideau who is a freshman at 133 who is 39-5 and won sections by tech and a decision in the finals. He is the second rated 133 in the State AAA.

The announcers, in including Kyven Garson, were saying he is the best wrestler they’ve either ever had coming out of Iowa or the best one they have had in a long time. What about Ben Kueter? Also, why didn’t Iowa make a better effort for Ross? Watching him wrestle, he is special. He will be a BEAST at heavy!

Someone on Hawkeye board posted he would put Oklahoma state at top of Raney twins’ list from what hearing at their regional tournament. Anyone know if OSU is the likely front runner for them?
Haven’t seen them. How good are they?

Elite wrestlers, both top 10 in their class. They have a very funky style and are a joy to watch. They have both had very competitive matches with Jax, some of the best high school matches I’ve seen.
They’ve also really put a ton of time into Greco so I think backing off that some going into college we will see some significant growth. Just speculating

Wolbert is in the semi's of the Wisconsin State Tournament with 2 first period pins by throwing his opponents on their backs with a cow catcher. In each match he had 3 or 4 takedowns before the pin.

Info taken from @TheLowSingle's Twitter feed:
  • Kellen Wolbert opens his state tournament with 2 pins in the first period. Will wrestle the semifinals tomorrow night @ 7pm.
  • Ronnie Ramirez opens his state tournament with a pin and a tech!
  • Rocklin Zinkin opens his state tournament with 2 pins in the first period! Zinkin follows up with a tech and is moving into the quarterfinals.
From Flo:
  • Coby Merrill only needed 7 seconds to advance on day 1 at the CIF State Championships

Rocklin Zinkin is in the California quarterfinals at 120 with 2 1st period pins and a tech in his 3rd match. Dominant with lots of takedowns. Ramirez is in the quarterfinals with 1 1st period pins and a tech. Merrill won with 3 1st period pins with 1 of the pins in 7 seconds. Merrill and Ross are exact opposites with body types. Sorry okok didn't see your post.

Villasenor wins by tech fall early in the 2nd period. The kid he wrestled was on his back for 52 seconds and fought the pin. Tough kid but Villasenor was very dominant.

Adams wins by a 1st period pin. Got an impressive takedown with his opponents leg up high to a trip. He then arm bar, half nelson on the other side muscled his opponent over for the pin.

How are you watching these Harley? Live or online? If online, where. I can only see replays after the fact on flo.
Yes flow has a State Tournament site where I can hit the state and get replays of State matches after they occur( I get brackets and they have a green symbol on most matches where I hit and can watch replay).

Ladarion won with a 1st period pin. Dee had a slick ankle pick off the start. The got another takedown and got the arm bar on 1 side and half on the other and turned his opponent and after some struggle got the pin.

I am sure seeing that pin combination a lot lately the arm bar and on the other side a half and where your opponent leans on defense you go the other side.
Goff 215 wins by pin in the 1st period and Hickman 150 wins by tech in the 2nd period. Teague wins by 1st period pin at 190.
