Can’t hire him for the RTC job. That’s illegal.
CAN hire him for a university job.
What is the difference? Hope this doesn’t come across as snarky I’m genuinely curious because I figured RTCs would actually have fewer rules than universities.
Honestly? It makes no sense to me. But looked it up to be sure.
But yeah. You can hire immediate family for university positions. But RTCs are a no-go.
Might have more to do with - if you hire them for university and they mess up - the university can held responsible/liable with enforceable penalties.
Wild. Would have figured RTCs had no rules but here we are. Stricter than the NCAA?

Who ever it will be, you can expect it to:
1. Slightly surprise us
2. Be flying a little under the radar
3. Make us say, “didn’t quite see that coming.”
4. Also say, “that’s not too bad. I like it.”
5. Have a wrestler that has upside.
6. Have a wrestler heading into his peak.
I don't know what to tell you. I thought it was illegal to hire immediate family to university positions. I KNOW it's illegal to hire immediate family for RTC positions.
It changed after Nate Carr was hired as the RTC coach at Iowa State. Which... at least he had the freaking bonafides where the hire didn't seem like just a recruiting benefit.
It is NOT illegal to hire family/individuals close to recruits. It did use to be a rule in 2017. but changed in 2021, with the NCAA "loosening" the rules around it. They're basically leaving it up to the individual schools to police hires.
Fix dad didn't work for the University did he? But no it shouldn't be allowed in athletics either.
It’s gotta be Ross or Mocco to be OSUs next hwt. Don’t think there are any other high level heavy prospects who are A. Uncommitted and B. Wrestle with the “F you, I’m scoring 100” style that this staff wants.
I would take Ross over Mocco right now due to his speed. Plus I think he can maintain all his athleticism while putting on another 20 lbs. Either guy is a good fit and they will have Wyatt as a training partner.
Plus it’d be hilarious to watch Iowa lose their minds if we get Ross.
Do you think missing out on Ross would be the breaking point for some Iowa fans’ opinion of TNT? Losing an in-state kid to DT and OSU would probably send some over the edge

Yes to the first part, but not confirmed.
And IMO he's definitely a HWT, but isnt huge.
It's been said a lot, but I've never seen any evidence for it beyond Coby decided not to continue at Gilroy, so I'll remain hopeful
Idk how tall Coby is but Ross is listed at 6’3 and if you told me he had another inch or two of growing to do, I’d believe it. Thats gotta be comparable to Kerk, Keuter, Steveson, and the other top “modern” HWTs, right?
It's a classic bulletin board narrative where someone started to repeat it and all of a sudden it's gospel.
A possible, maybe, throwaway remark from years ago is not gospel and DT wouldn't care either way if he decided he wants him at OSU.
