Ronnie Ramirez drops semifinal match at RTOC to Moses Mendoza of Gilroy 5-0. Mendoza dominated him on his feet, hand fighting and on the mat.

Moses is ranked 3rd at 126 and Ramirez is ranked 5th

Also -Landon robideau is in the finals @ a Minnesota Christmas tournament. Dominating everyone At 160

Kellen Wolbert is also in that same tournament at 145. He is also in the finals. Won his semifinals by major decision, but look gassed after the second. (He hasn’t had many matches go beyond the first)

Ronnie Ramirez defaulted out after his loss in the semi finals against Mendoza. He did the same thing at super 32 when he loss to Aaron Seidel. Not sure I like that pattern. Instead of compete he opts out.

Landon robideau in Minnesota Christmas tournament Dominated everyone At 160 on his way to the title. He Tech falled his guy in the finals pretty easy. The kid is stud. I would love to see him and basset wrestle. He doesnt get tired. He’s physical and has solid offense. I Haven’t seen his bottom game much but if he can get off bottom this kid will be a problem in the near future.

Kellen Wolbert as I mention earlier he got tired after the second period in his semi match and won by major. In his final match he came out strong again with like 3 or 4 takedowns in the first then he got tired and taken down and turned in the second. he ended up loosing 12-11 to a kid I have never heard of (I don’t think he is ranked). Kellen has some good offensive ability but his tank was empty and it affected his wrestking IQ. Not sure about him. He also did not look good on bottom

You beat me to it, I was just going to post this article. Some good info in there, I was wondering what was going on with him. Wonder if he'll ever get on the mat for us?
I heard that he is close to solving his issues with getting into school. I believe we are gray shirting him this year so he can adjust. I've also heard that he is all-in on OSU and coach Taylor.

Honestly a grey shirt makes the most sense if he is a 125 career guy. That means he only loses 1 year behind Troy. If he is 133 like some thought, maybe he has a shot next season.
I know he’d been wrestling at 61 prior to this. I think he’s probably going 57 to stay away from Ono at the moment. I’m not sure what Rei is doing.

Been at Disneyworld with the family the last eight days. Did I miss anything on the recruiting front? I see that Johnson and Correa have a shot to meet at the Powerade Final. Johnson is committed to OK State right?

Johnson vs Correa in the finals of the Powerade. Pretty sure Johnson is projected a HWT in college. A lot of people project Correa at 197, but he has had no issues with dominating the top HWT's in high school so far. I know college is a different animal, but I really think OK State should go hard after this kid as their future HWT. They will get a preview of it today.

Any updates on Correa after visits he recently made?

I watched 3 of Johnson's matches at Powerade and he focuses on takedowns. He does not try to ride much but seems to get away quickly. His semi match was close when he seemed way more talented. He got a takedown in about 5 seconds and then did not do much. He attacked several times and could not finish. With about a minute left, it was 5 to 4 Johnson and Johnson got the last takedown by a go around with a desperation attempt by his opponent. Johnson wore orange wrestling shoes but that was the most impressive part of his semifinal match. Hopefully he shows more against Correa.

I'd like to see how he looks later in the season compared to now. I know he's a good football player and he doesn't seem to be in wrestling shape right now, I could be wrong though. He could jump a level once he gets to college and focuses solely on wrestling.

Love to be wrong, but I think Jude whips Johnson this afternoon. Tough match coming right after ending his football season.

I’ve seen Johnson listed at 6’0. Better suited for 97 in college, methinks.

Correa beat Johnson 4-0. Just seen the update on Flo brackets.
Yes, I watched the match and Correa got the takedown at about the 1 minute mark and rode the final minute and then the whole second period. Johnson ends up giving up an escape but could not get close to a takedown and loses as DE wrote 4 to 0. Fairly easy victory for Correa. Also, Correa announced that he will go to Cornell in college.
