Vega looked kinda slow at first but he still dominated and got a 20-4 tech fall over Tahir Parkins.
Seidel 3rd beat Botello 6th by major. Seidel is a 3 time state champ who Forrest beat for the State Championship this year. Vega won by tech just dominated the 4th rated 138 Parkins. By the end of the match Parkins had been broken. Vega literally gave his ankle to his opponent in the 3rd period and Parkins let go of it right away because Vega scrambled so well all match. Impressive! Vega is rated 3rd at 150 I suppose because his last all star match was at 150.Ronnie Ramirez won 6 to 5 over Desmond rated number 2 at 126. Ramirez is very quick and got 2 single leg takedowns on each got control of the 2nd leg for the takedowns. In the 3rd period Ramirez gave up 3 stalling calls for 2 points. Ramirez took neutral because Desmond is tough on top. Desmond shot a lot but Ranirez is so quick he often didn't touch Ramirez's leg.
They’re alrightSo you are saying we have some decent recruits?
Robideau number 1 won 10 to 4 over number 2 Rath 157. Very impressive the announcers were surprised with the ease of the victory. 3 takedowns to 0 with 2 of them off Rath shots very quick go behind although the 2nd one Rath missed everything was flat on his stomach and an easy go around. Robideau's 1st takedown was at the edge got a leg pulled him in a little and then dove and got the 2nd leg for the takedown, very impressive. Robideau 's defense was very good. We have some great prospects with great development we have some National Champs in this group.Seidel 3rd beat Botello 6th by major. Easy to be positive with our recruiting stars impressive wins tonight. Even Johnson wrestled good but couldn't pull off the upset. Our Coaches have a lot to work with the 2025 class especially with Dee, Robideau and Vega. The 2024 class has a potential National Champ with Merrill at 197. Sakamoto could really jump levels with improving in folkstyle and adjusting to a new Country and language. The picture I have of him is to be our 133 for 2 years and then wrestle 125 his last 2 years. I have some hope for the staff to help Hughes 141 and Thompson 184 to jump levels and be All American type wrestlers. Then 2026 we have 2 superstar potential wrestlers coming in, Jax and Ross. Also, some forum members think Wolbert will be real good, I hope so and Rocklin Zinkin. In 2027 we could use 2 super recruits if we are to continue to grow as a Program. Villasenor likely would be 1 of those and he is number 4 in the 2027 class. He does need to get bigger though to be a good sized 125. I don't know who else we could get but it is really early. These guys just finished their sophomore year.Harley, I’m not used to all of this positivity from you. I enjoy your posts but this is somewhat frightening to me. 😁
I agree with you that there are several NCs in this class. DT has just got to get them to be NCs at the same time.
Any update on Raney twins? Missing out on James sucks. Hope we land Raneys.
If Robideau goes as freshman he will be an AAEasy to be positive with our recruiting stars impressive wins tonight. Even Johnson wrestled good but couldn't pull off the upset. Reminds me of a smaller Nolf .The Pittsburg matches were very impressive. You do not want to scramble with Vega.
I don't think you're wrong, but at 157 as a RS sophomore in 2028, the only current top20 ranked kids left at the weight will be Cannon and Hipolito. Develop and let Kasak, Shapiro, Taylor, and everyone move on and have a nice run for 3 titles! If Robideau goes as freshman he will be an AA
