It’s a celebrity culture.
As far as the politicians go they get away with murder and get fawned all over by lobbyists and staffers. They eat it up. By the time they get to Washington they are already soulless.
The most sickening thing about any election night is watching those smiling assholes convince themselves people voted for them instead of against the other guy. They are dilusional but I doubt any of us would be different. I would be me tooing anyone within arms reach.
