They are going to rule on the "obstruction of Congress" with the separation of powers executive privilege argument of not giving internal WH docs to them or letting McGann, Bolton, Mulvaney and others participate in their dog and pony show.

Will not happen on SCOTUS. This is not a legal process but a political process. This is totally under House and Senate rules, and the Chief Justice rulings during the trial will be based on the rules the Senate passes, which has nothing to do with US case law.
Perhaps. However, one of the Articles was obstruction of Congress due to the WH exerting executive privilege to deny documents and people for this sham debacle. It's a separation of powers Constitutional argument. The WH had the right to go to court and withhold the docs and people from testifying as countless administrations have done. That pissed off the House and thus the Obstruction of Congress Article of Impeachment. The SCOTUS rules on these issues. If they find the WH has a Constiutional right to deny docs and people it sort of blows a hole in that Article.

Ironic since the House is waiting around and dragging its feet by not sending the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate. The House denied the GOP its day to bring witnesses like the House rules allowed by claiming "time is of the essence".
