Granddaughter arrived NYC safely this AM.....

Granddaughter really enjoyed her visit to Kenya. If she visits again next year, she wants to give all the little orphan girls at the Nairobi orpanage fake finger nails. The little native girls love the American fake finger nails.
Good luck and safety to your granddaughter. She'll need it in NYC. She was probably safer in Kenya than she is in NYC.

Uhh do you get out much? What makes New York so scary to you?
Ummmmmm...this?

Son, I've been to and lived in countries you've never even heard of.
As a pre and early teen I lived in Hanau, Germany. I spent 15 minutes learning the metric system. I've spent a life time learning the numerically dysfunctional and idiotic imperial system of measure.

OU never lost a football game the 3 years I lived in Germany. '54, '55 and '56. Every Saturday during football season, OU made the newsreel at the Pioneer Army Post Theater.

I grew up an OU football fan before deciding on OSU for accounting back in 1979. I actually remember crying after Jerry Tagge the Nebraska QB put a hurting on OU in 1971. What a star packed game that was. Mildren and Pruitt, Tagge and Rogers. Then the exhilaration of Von Foot's field goal in the face of Ohio's taunts a few years later.

My high school friend and then my college roommate flew to Columbus for that OSU game in 1977. Two of OU's cheerleaders were in our class and were cheerleaders in HS with us. It was the end of rush week before school started in Columbus and we partied together Friday night with the local Theta & Chi O girls and Saturday night with our cheerleaders (Tri Delts). One of the best road (air) trips I've ever been on.

Remember how awkward Jack Mildren looked throwing? Mildren was left handed. Mildren threw right. Back in the day parents and teachers told lefties to eat right, write right. My mother was a nut for manners. I thoght her insruction was to inform me of good manner.

A Thanksgiving came. My ultra left handed sister was seated to my right at the dining table. I ate left so not to interfere with Sis. My mother looked at me and said. "you're eating left," as if I were commiting a cardinal sin.

Ronald Reagan was left handed. He signed all legal documents right.

Look at Clint Eastwood on film. He and I are ambidextrous. We always fire pistol right. On film, Eastwood almost always throws left, just as I do.
