I'd vote party line (gross) Dem if they were somehow effective at making progress for the people they govern.

And I do wish people would stop clinging to a party, like it's their tribe, and give some thought to which candidate most aligns with their values and ideas for governance.

I pretty much loathe the halo effect.

Ideally I agree - but the inability to give credit where it's due is a big part of the tribalism.
