You actually made my point for me I think. Let me try this....
1. There is no food stamp party.
2. Being on food stamps isn't a life sentence, and they aren't stupid. They can see a table with no counter offer on it.
3. They aren't debating team-based merits on a message board. They are trying to survive.
4. They may not all necessarily view this as a Trump shutdown - however much you would prefer they do.
Think about the people who have registered for food stamps. If they figured it out, you should be able to.
