Gillibrand (NY) becomes first sitting senator to call to abolish ICE

Geezus dude. Does Obamacare ring a bell? After the left ruined affordable healthcare for many of us, they should be thrilled the right is just criticizing Starbucks and not taking action to regulate their decisions.
Sorry wrong hashtag then #itsyourturnnow #amiright?

Obviously they can do whatever they want. I for sure will not be protesting. I won’t be calling my senator. I don’t use their product so a boycott isn’t even on the table.

I will however comment as much as I want how ridiculous it is to help people ruin their lives when obviously they need mental help. If one of your coworkers wanted to be a Fish and he wanted google to pay for gills and catfish whiskers would you go to your boss and request that? These people need help in the worst way and there is no coming back from that surgery. You are neither male or female when it’s over.
Good point....

Did I miss where any righties are trying to regulate what Starbucks can and can't do? People are just venting, david. I know you're very sensitive about all of the #losing lately, but venting isn't anything remotely like screwing over the middle class for a giant welfare expansion while lying about it.

Eat some weed. Drink some Pinot. Try to take your mind off of the giant dump Trump is taking on the Obama "legacy." After 8 years of that feckless cvnt being President, it's gonna be rough, but you're gonna survive.

I don’t think she’s dumb.

And she definitely shouldn’t be underestimated — especially by the neoliberal Dem establishment who badly screwed Bernie Sanders, and especially f*cked over his supporters.

But in Venezuela (the model for 21st century Marxist revolution) they’re now eating rats, dogs and zoo animals. And there’s little medicine or toilet paper.

Yet Mexico, knowing what’s currently happening in Venezuela, is on the cusp of electing a hard core Marxist — and now we have this emerging NY lady.

What’s the enduring appeal of Marxism in the 21st century? (Considering it always ends in failure and misery)

I’m currently reading books on the history of the Bolshevik revolution (it’s incredibly fascinating), but I’m yet to deeply study the ideology and theory itself.

Something keeps drawing people back to Marxism despite its terrible record. At some point I’ll probably have to bite the bullet and read Marx and Engels.

I'd like to be the first lib here on the incel board to call for ICE to be broken up. I heard the head guy on the radio the other day and he came across as a tone-deaf, thick headed, dumb cop. They aren't up for handling tricky situations or children. Start all over, that agency is sick.

Why do you willingly play into @CBradSmith’s stereotypes?

A little help in coming to the middle here....pleeeeeaaassssee.

Probably some truth here

Buddy of mine works for DHS and with ICE

Maybe I should give him a call and get his thoughts

Anyhow, if ICE is sick then there are no words for the CIA

That is the agency that needs to go first and foremost.

It’s just funny. I’ve never seen leftists support the disbanding of an expensive federal agency before. Can we do the irs next?

I fully support Starbucks' rights to support this for their employees if they so chose. I'd support my employer adopting a similar policy.

As a matter of fact, I've already lobbied our HR department to work on adding hormonal therapies for trans employees. And, I think they are going to be adopting it. It can be such a huge thing for the individual yet such a minor burden on the rest of us employees.

Don’t you think we should give money to about 500 other causes before this? Why doesn’t your company give money to st Jude’s children or fund a food bank before they start turning penises inside out?

Starbucks has just cured every ill on the list and it’s time to pay for cosmetic surgery. It’s not to fix a mental illness because trans people aren’t mentally ill!

I wish a family thinking about how they are going to pay for their child’s organ transplant could be there when corporate films the employee video explaining this cosmetic surgery expense they are so bravely paying for.

My company gives loads of money in charity. This isn't charity. We are self insured for medical. So as an employee in the pool of insured; I'm happy to let a bit of my premiums go towards making such a small minority of people who would use this benefit lives better.

Is it a mental illness treatment or cosmetic?

Agree that Starbucks has of course the right to support their employees as they see fit. But I would not support my employer doing so.
But that are tons of more things I would rather see than supporting top or bottom elective surgery.

I am down to just a few tech stocks right now as the DJT economic shit show starts.

Won't comment specifically on SBUX.

What Trump shit show policies have caused you to have a negative opinion on tech stocks and what specific tech stocks are you referencing?

I am long a very few tech stocks which I see as less impacted by a messy tariff kerfluffle.

My biggest risk stock is TSLA which is all about a possible short squeeze.

Intel... Man I would short that if I played that game.

I don't understand your question.

What is trans hormonal therapy and surgery? Is it like braces? Is a boob job for a woman the same thing as a man? Is this like paying for therapy and rehab for an anorexic that has a body dismorphia? What about company provided protein powder for someone who identifies as a body builder? Is this to save money later like a preventative deal? Are you guys exploring gastric bypass? I assume that would help a larger percentage than the transes in your company? Why this special little niche that seems to be en vogue right now?

Gillibrand in 2009

“During her one term in the House of Representatives, from a largely rural, traditionally Republican district, Kirsten E. Gillibrand was on safe political ground adopting a tough stance against illegal immigration,” the story from Kirk Semple read.

“Ms. Gillibrand, a Democrat, opposed any sort of amnesty for illegal immigrants, supported deputizing local law enforcement officers to enforce federal immigration laws, spoke out against Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s proposal to allow illegal immigrants to have driver’s licenses and sought to make English the official language of the United States.

Gillibrand in 2018
We need to abolish ICE,” Gillibrand wrote on Facebook.

“ICE has become a cruel deportation force. This agency has carried out the Trump administration’s ‘zero tolerance’ immigration policy, including separating children and parents. People are coming to the United States seeking asylum and a better life for their families – and President Trump is slamming the door on them.

“ICE is meant to provide security and enforcement. But it has morphed into something much more by conducting raids and deporting people who’ve lived in and contributed to this country for many years.

“Congress needs to abolish ICE, and we need to start over, separating the criminal justice and immigration roles. Together, we can build a better system that is humane, just and recognizes that immigration adds to America’s strength and security.

Certainly not unique in the Chameleon like way these freakin lowlifes (both sides) change their “convictions” to suit their political ambitions and appeal to the one-celled members of the general public that make up their constituency. Just nauseating to watch this crap....a pox on all their houses.

If any of that is what that person and their Dr. thought was best for their health and welfare, then I'd be all for having the company I work for add that to the formulary or list of procedures covered by our policies. The additional, incremental cost on me would be happily paid if it made my coworkers lives better - which I believe will in the end make the company more money.

That is admirable of you. But as other companies go down the path, and I think they will, we will not have health insurance. Because health insurance will morph into lifestyle insurance.

I don't understand your statement.

If my lifestyle choice is to be a runner because that is what fulfills me and I injure my foot or knee - my health insurance pays to repair it so I can continue my lifestyle. At the end of that process; I'm a better, loyal, and more productive employee for it.
