French election results....

Kinda makes me wonder what our election would have looked like if Bernie hadn't been gamed out of the nomination by the DNC.
+1. I could have been a Bernie voter despite some of his way out there stuff. Up until he took it in the butt and supported the candidate that owned the DNC, he seemed like an honest and reasonable guy. I have to give it up for an anti-gun guy that voted in the interests of his constituents and not his own.

A sad day for France. However, there is a silver lining in the clouds. The silver lining is that the world has been put on notice about what happens if you don't take steps to protect your culture from Islamic barbarism. It is sort of like the girl who was forewarned about marrying the abuser. She goes ahead and does it anyway but learns the hard way later and the people who cared enough about her to warn her are proven right. Sometimes learning the hard way is the best way. Sadly, not enough westerners have been slaughtered for the point to be adequately driven home.

One time Bernie said that open borders is a Koch Brothers plot -- I could have considered voting for him if he stuck with that, but he didn't.

Bernie Sanders policies with closed borders and divided govt might have been better than Jeb Bush neocon policies with open borders.

Just a thought experiment...

Aahh, France, or French. My daughter is letting a French girl (whom she met at OSU) live with her in Richardson, TX for 6 months while she "works" an unpaid internship for 6 months. She was for the guy who wanted to tax the rich 90%, she couldn't watch my daughter's Red Healer for a weekend while she went to a friend's graduation in in San Antonio because, "she pulls really hard on the leash and it scares me". So, my 78 year old, 98 lb mother in law did it.
Some of my favorite French sayings. "French infantry rifle for sale, never been shot, only dropped once." "French soldiers make love with their tongues and fight with their feet." The French should be irrelevant to us.

Let me guess, your daughter had to supply her with deodorant.:D

The French are going to be in real trouble. The more refuges they take the less French France will become. Eventually France will come to a big bloody mess. England has opted out, and good for them. I just hope it was not too late. Central Europe is going to be a problem for the EU for the next decade or more. I'm just curious to see what the Swiss do. Europeans will push back but they don't have any Count Draculs any more. There is no Chaleigmeign waiting in the wings. In other words there is no one ruthless enough to push back as hard they need. The Pope will not help. It is not Christian to stand up for ones religion these days. Hannibal is coming and Rome doesn't even know it. The results will push Eastern Europe back toward Russian federation. At this point it may be better to let Russia have the Ukrain back.

Man oh man did Obumer do number on Europe. You are seeing the results of failure to back revolution in Iran, failed regime change in Lybia, and pulling out of Iraq and leaving the Iraqi government with their pants around their ankles. This is what community organizing looks like in foreign policy. There are too many pieces to pick up without some major sacrifices to be made, and Europe is going to make many of those.

It could be worse though. No country's leader has figured out everyone around them are ripe for the taking and no one is going to stop them as long as the land you are taking doesn't have oil.

really good points in here

history may see obamacare as the trojan horse.

a couple of doctors building a mosque in okc was a big deal in 1988.

i was 18 believed in freedom of religion and their rights as citizens.

now i see women covered head to toe in sams with their husbands leading them around on a leash and i want to scream this shit does not fly in okc.

for jfk courage was getting shot at in the south pacific, moving integration forward and finally taking a bullet.

this guy and the people around him are about cementing a legacy and grandeur

A landslide victory for Macron. Not really surprising. I think once this got down to a clear choice between Macron and the extremist views that Le Pen represented, this outcome was expected.

Macron has a lot of work ahead of him though and he needs to address some of the legitimate concerns that many in France (and even around Europe) have, especially as it relates to the global economy. He also needs to follow through on his promise to help reform the EU.

Many people assume that Sanders would have defeated Trump in the general election. I think this is a fair assumption for the most part (if it was just Sanders and Trump). Given the margin of victory Clinton had over Trump in the popular vote, one could assume that Sanders would have held some of the voters in those states Trump was able to win over that helped him piece together enough electoral college votes to win the White House. At least those voters who voted based on economic concerns.

One thing to consider though is whether a third party candidate (such as Bloomberg) would have ran if Sanders had won the Democratic nomination. Bloomberg said he was going to run if the nominees were Sanders and Trump. A third party run by someone like Bloomberg would have really shaken up the race and thus making the outcome less certain.

Should the French government be investigating Macron for collusion with the American government since Obama obviously interfered with their election?

No need to, is there? Obama spoke loudly and above board for all to see and hear. See, that's legal. No secrecy, bots, fake news or stealing, the way conservatives run their campaigns.

Your guys were supported by a murdering, anti-democratic, data-stealing tyrant. Water always finds its own level.

Interesting that you think they're the same thing.

I think Obama's is worse as it was blatant and there is no proof of any Russian intereference in our election.

The only interference proven so far is Hillary screwing Sanders over.

As far as the data dump by wikileaks, I think the truth died with the DNC staffer wandering the dangerous streets of our capital in the middle of the night.

What damn business is it of France's anyway? What could they possibly do? I think I'm going to enjoying watching the fall of France. After all, they are France.

French citizens....voting in a French national election.

Boggles the mind that they are allowed to do that.

"...voter named Daniel, who said he opposed Le Pen’s plans to stop allowing dual nationalities."

And voting in their own self-interest.

Will wonders never cease.
There is definitely conflicts going on for French Israelis with dual citizenship. They are living in exactly that which they are voting against. It is ironic to say the least. It is interesting that they are quoting their grandparents and not their own experiences. I would not fault them in voting for their own self interests here but I think that is really what they are worried about. Their vote is about them being able to continue to vote as La Pen said she would take that away. I'm not sure it goes farther than that, but I would let NZ speak to what he was getting at from the post.

Holocause denial isn't really an abstract concept.

In what western nation is complaining about multi-culturalism not allowed?

What is it called if you can cite all bad things about all races and groups? If just one of those are the Jews, am I anti semetic?
