Disclaimer: I am not a financial advisor or any kind of advisor for that matter. I've just collected "coins" since I was a kid. I collect as an adult now. FYI

If you still use cash, take a quick look at the dates on your silver before you spend it.

As of today (4/1/25)

Silver spot @ $33.89/Oz. spot price

US COIN MELT VALUES (The raw silver value/oz. @ spot) The real price is what the market determines. Don't expect to be able to buy "junk" silver, as this is colloquially known, for these amounts. It will be much more.

Pre 1965 US dime - $2.45

Pre 1965 US quarter - $6.12

Pre 1965 US half dollar - $12.25

1965 – 1970 half dollar (40% silver) - $5.00

1878 – 1935 silver dollar - $26.19

1971 – 1976 Eisenhower dollar (40% silver) - $10.71

1886 - 2013silver eagle dollar (.999 silver) - $33.83

Happy collecting!

Silver spot price has dropped more than $4/ounce to $29.86. Someone with a lot of silver must have "dumped" a large amount 🤔. Gold doesn't have as large a percentage drop usually. Silver will probably be back to $34 in a few weeks!

I view my bullion program like I do a diet program. You can weigh everyday or you can weigh every week. In both endeavors I choose weekly. More than likely someone placed a very large blind put for a future date. It is impossible to get delivery on anything but pedestrian amounts of gold and silver fares only a bit better.

As I have advised my family & friends since 2008, get your hands on bags of pre-1965 US halves, quarters, & dimes & sit on them. Best bang for the $$ by far.
