For My Friend, Syskatine

Still waiting on the dictatorships in the Nordic countries.

No dictators there. They are high tax welfare states, very far removed from socialists. They actually rank higher than the US on the free market scale. If you want to advocate for a Nordic style government for the US that is fine. But don't make the mistake in believing they are socialists. The USSR, China, Cuba, Venezuela, those are socialist states. Sweden, Norway, etc. are not.

Denmark is not socialist:

Who owns a higher percentage of the means of national production, Norway or Venezuela?
What is a free market scale?

Ponca Dan, If you just give a simple definition of Socialism we can resort to facts instead of dealing with opinions eliminating any room for disagreement.

I've given you the definition at least once, and probably more than once. Socialism is government ownership or total control of the means of production. Capitalism is the private ownership of the means of production. And a Mixed Economy is exactly what it says: government intervention and/or ownership of some of the production and private ownership of the rest. The Nordic countries are Mixed Economies, not socialist.

So if the Norwegian owns and controls a bigger share of the means of Norwegian production than Venezuela then you will admit to being wrong about socialism?
