He was hurt last year also. I think if he's healthy he could do some big things. That weight seems to have unexpectedly cleared out with seniors graduating, Tomasello going up, and Milhoff likely transferring.I think Piccinnini will surprise lots of folks this year. In the match they showed against Chasen Tolbert he had trouble escaping, but we must realize that was early in the season. I watched him wrestle freestyle and he was pretty wicked on his feet.
If he has figured out how to get off bottom he should AA fairly high.
Which is saying a lot. Piccinnini didn't do much freestyle until college. I think he could make the finals, but think Suriano will be good as well.Gomez is still in high school. I think Piccinini beat the Michigan wrestler in freestyle this summer, which the Michigan kid had a lot more experience at.
I also think Conner Youtsey from Michigan is finished wrestling as well. That leaves the following former AA's
#2 Gilman Iowa
#6 Peters, Northern Iowa
#8 Schram, Stanford (I have no idea what his classification is.
former finalist from 2005 Moisey from West Virginia.
The folks on the Mat are talking a lot about an incoming freshmen at Michigan, but I am not familiar with his work.
Gone are:
#1.Megaludis (graduated)
#3.Tomasello (moved up to 133)
#4. Terao (graduated) His little brother is at American and very tough as well.
#5. Youtsey (rumored to be finished wrestling)
#7. Milhof (Transferring)
I might have this screwed up so correct my logic.
Piccinnini could end up in the finals from what I saw of his wrestling.
Gomez from Iowa State is also very tough. Not sure if he is redshirting or not.
Dance and Tech as a whole are talented, but I feel like I have to see it at the end of the season before I start putting them in the running to win titlesGranted he didn't AA last year, but don't forget about Joey Dance (Va Tech) at 125. Youtsey is definitely done.
Agree with Pokes2010 that Suriano will be a load. However Pic is a rs freshman which will make a difference. I think Pic will AA this year.Which is saying a lot. Piccinnini didn't do much freestyle until college. I think he could make the finals, but think Suriano will be good as well.
