Have you ever been in a war, Bearcat? Have you ever watched as the tracers, what appear to be thousands of them, as they raced toward your position and you are convinced every one of them is aimed directly at you? Have you ever been worried that an enemy knows your exact position, but are terrified if you move they’ll see you? Have you ever screamed in terror as artillery rains down on you and the explosions are so loud they deafen you and the ground shudders under you and the dust is so thick you can’t see or breathe? Have you ever stepped out after it was over (only lasted a few minutes but felt like hours) to check on a buddy and discover all that was left of him was the top half of his body? Have you ever gazed on the charred remains of Napalm victims and not realize it was the bodies of human beings? When you came home have you ever been in your front yard visiting with the neighbor lady, hear a lawn mower three yards down backfire and instinctively knock her to the ground and throw your body over her, then apologize profusely after you let her up and watch her race back to her house convinced you are a mad man? If you haven’t experienced even one of those things I suggest you STFU about your knowledge of the horror of war and naivety of peaceniks.
