Drain that swamp

And Fox News is who pulled him over the grill last week. Trumps mouthpiece is about as committed to this trump administration as trump is to fascism. They just suck at it.

I actually respect some of the News People at Fox. The problem is conflating Hannity, Carlson, at al with those same individuals. If only there was truth in branding. Maddow, Ingraham, Lemon, et al would be on the Opinion Networks not the News Networks.

There is no Shepard smith or Chris Wallace or on the other stations. No one who hosts a show that legitimately goes after the side they supposedly work for. Add in how good Martha and Shannon are and you have a station that stands on more legitimacy than their competitors.

welcome to the world of politics...power = money

I'm not defending Pruitt, as I have read nothing on the guy.

With that said, this article is extremely poorly written, with the message by Steve (in the tweet) so egregiously misrepresentative that its indistinguishable from a lie.

But I imagine Steve was trying leave an impression. Obviously he was successful, truthful or not.

These 2 paragraphs, deep in the article, pretty much gut everything. The first paragraph is irrelevant, which is apparent once one reads what the Superfund was tasked with performing, here:

https://www.epa.gov/newsreleases/epa-announces-superfund-task-force

The second paragraph paints a picture, for me, that the author (and consequently, the tweeter), don't have any business putting together headlines.

UNLESS, the intent is to create an impression of corruption.

In that case, well done. But it makes parties to the distribution of the article, the author and tweeter, liars.

"The appointment was notable in that Kelly would become a senior adviser in the federal environmental agency despite having no previous experience with environmental issues. A business major with a law degree and a 200-head cattle ranch, Kelly listed motivational speaking and political activity among the core competencies on his resume. The descendant of a long line of bankers and Republicans, Kelly had worked at his family’s bank for the previous 33 years.

It is unclear whether Spirit’s loans to Pruitt violated the bank’s lending standards, both because those standards aren’t public and because Pruitt may have used assets and income as collateral that don’t appear in public records. Pruitt, Kelly, and the EPA declined to comment or answer questions for this story."

Anyone who has been around banking in OK from the 90's through recently knows/knew that Kell Kelly was an awful banker and that Spirit Bank was a horribly run bank, frequently referred to as the lender of last resort. It finally caught up with him and them. That they haven't been placed in FDIC receivership is surprising to me.

There may be something more to the story, but I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't either. It doesn't look good at all.

Scott Pruitt is a dipshit. He doesn’t need all that crap, but as long as he’s gutting the EPA and cutting back on some of the regulations that effect my daily business operations I’m cool with it.

Indefensible statement. There are legitimate journalists everywhere. You may disagree with them. You may not like them reporting on what they report on. Carrying water for FOX news is what you're doing, and they[re largely a propaganda outlet. That every now and then one of them sets down the institutional bias doesn't rescue that station from illegitimacy. They literally push false facts for money.

"He may be wrong and corrupt, but as long as he's good for my business that's all that counts."

Boy Dong, you're the perfect conservative, aren't you? No bones about it -- honesty and competence are irrelevant. Hell I should salute you for the brief flash of intellectual honesty on the board.

Watching this "Drain the swamp" mantra is like watching a Monty Python skit unfold. They really believed it!

Now he bought a million dollar home making less than $40k a year. Like most successful conservatives on the national scene, his image of success and competence was probably enabled by inheriting money instead of actually succeeding at making money. It's amazing how they'll salute someone as a competent success and defer to them when all they did was inherit. E.g. the last two republican presidents, this guy... They shit on the conservatives that actually accomplished something noteworthy, like McCain. If you peel the onion of where these nitwits are coming from, it's a strange, ugly place.

Yeah, you’re a f***ing saint aren’t you?

Don’t throw stones syssy boy.

That's about the bitch approach I'd expect from someone with your world view. There's only two options, huh? "Incompetence and corruption is okay so long as I benefit from it" or being a saint. Nothing in between.

Yup you got me syssy boy. You’re such a holier than thou clown.

Since when do liberals care about incompetence and corruption? When it goes against your world view?

You're such a greed head bitch. Really. Just so long as your business is good you're okay with the incompetence and corruption. Did your parents teach you these values?

What’s a greed head bitch? Seriously did your girl/boy friend treat you bad last night? You seem very menstrual this morning.

A greed head is someone that views every decision and value in life through the prism of their financial statement. A bitch is... well, you know.

Where does that philosophy come from? Was there any installation of values beyond self interest?

I really need some douchebag lawyer preaching values to me. Gtfo with that weak sauce!

No shit. Sounds like you've made it this far without anybody ever instilling basic values in you. Explains a lot.

Again, an ambulance chasing greedy ass lawyer preaching values oozes irony. Keep telling yourself I have a problem, I’m sure your insecurities will work themselves out.

Oh it's beyond preaching values to you -- you're a social experiment, a heartland version of the ghetto kid that never had values taught to them.

You need a hug? It’ll be ok. The first step to solving your problem is to admit you have one. Once you get past that it’s all down hill. Just look in the mirror Stewart Smalley and repeat those words.

Do you apply similar standards for Tweets from DJT?

Ask your kids or your spouse to do this for you. It will help, I promise.
