Don't look now, but President Trump just started laying the groundwork to abolish the IRS

REVOLUTION!
Trump is literally using the left's tactics against them.

How did abortion get legalized federally? We went from no abortion to....well we gotta allow it if giving birth would endanger the mother's life. Then what about rape survivors? Most of us agree that's reasonable. Incest? Again, most of us agree that's reasonable. Then the left says, well it's not fair to let all these people have it, let's just open it to everyone! Yeah! That's how they legalized abortion.

What is Trump wanting to do with taxes? First pick a couple of groups that most everyone would support, like active and retired military. Then add in cops. Not everyone would support cops, but most would. Same for firefighters.

Then Trump goes, "It's not fair to let all those people have, let's just abolish taxes for all! Yeah!"

And that's how he kills the IRS. By using the left's own tactics against them to get public support for it.

This is why I get frustrated with some of the poster here (not you), because this stuff isn't breaking news to anyone who actually follows Trump and knows what his plan is.

Anyone that has even a passing understanding of how Trump is going to massively improve their lives as a result of the policies he will enact is ready to run through a brick wall to see it happen.

What's interesting is that no income tax, and no capital gains tax, are not the same thing. If you truly wanted to 'tax the rich' and not 'tax the working class', a tax policy that combined tariffs for foreign goods and capital gains taxes would do just that, and be feasibly implemented.

Edit: Also, tips shouldn't be taxed. A tip is simply a gift voluntarily rendered from one to another. As a gift, its not taxable below $10K.

I would love to see IRS abolished and tarrifs support the entire US govt.
We have really some great economic minds on this forum.
You clearly failed to read what I said. Tarrifs and Capital gains tax. Is that not doing exactly what Dems want? Give the tax break to the working class and make the reach investor class pay the tax bill? Now it won't support a $7T annual expenditure rate, so there'll have to be some spending cuts to accommodate, but reducing the deficit and hopefully (eventually) the federal debt might ensure that we have a country to pass down to the next generation.
