Donald trump shut the fuck up

He's not president for another month.

And since the election ended, we've had post-election riots, followed by Jill Stein's recount, followed by several weeks of pressure on electors.

There's been very little in-depth discussion about why Trump actually won the election.

Here's a new WSJ video recapping some major campaign moments.

And these people, LOL.

It's all about Trump, all the time. Any duties of POTUS are secondary to making sure he gets the credit he wants.

I too want him to continue to bypass the traditional media and use social media. Can he be a bit more selective in what he says? maybe some. But that's not who we elected. We can't expect him to stop doing some of the very things that got him elected.

So many people have gotten use to politicians that we have forgotten what they are: self-centered, lying, power hungry idiots. We get someone who isn't a politician, and the world whizzes on themselves because they don't act or speak like a politician...the crappy people we dislike. If for no other reason I like Trump is that he is breaking all of the political rules...and it is driving everyone crazy....and that's a short drive.

And yet they are all STILL wanting him to conform to their playbook even after he shoved it up their arses. I hope he turns the entire system upside down and inside out.

I think this whole notion of getting him off Twitter dovetails into the other thread about his instincts this entire election.

Unorthodox for sure. But the perception of recklessness is pretty obviously a valuable tool for him. Seems stupid to start acting normal.

As long as he gets results, that's all that matters (to me).

Says who?

Says me. He looks ridiculous. We gave him a shot to be president not the class clown. Tweet, be tough with the press, send Hillary to jail but raise the level to something that can possibly be construed as worth the presidents time. There is so much upside and he is pissing it away with these petty bullshit things. He wants respect from Russia and China but he is showing his ass too often.

He's got a LOT of runway right now. If he doesn't get results, feel free to throw your haymakers...and count on them landing.

For now, your concerns are largely falling on deaf ears.

I don't think so. I think the silent majority rolled the dice on him and he is an embarrassment to a lot of people. Something he should not forget every morning when He wakes up: he lost to the worst possible candidate who was despicable. He has no mandate. People Voted against her, left the presidential question blank or stayed home. That's what pisses me off about watching these grinning
Politicians after any election. The pendulum in this country swings due to a push force, not a pull. Outside of the people who actually are cheerleaders we are disgusted with both sides. He needs to realize that he was the lessor of two evils. Something that never dawned on obama to this day that he was the same thing to the majority of the people.

Grow up, secure the borders bring back jobs and kill Muslims. Help minorities on the weekends to make sure the Republican Party doesn't go extinct in thirty years and we are good. Enough with the bragadocious. You beat Hillary ****ing Clinton with a world super power in Russia doing most of the heavy lifting!

He lost by 2,800,000 to a historically weak candidate. I hope he never changes.

THIS.

And says ME, and many other Trump supporters.

Why give them reason to mock you? To poke fun at you? To criticize you?

Why do something so insignificant that can have such significance as alienating potential supporters or providing ammunition for those who oppose you?

Name me a time it's cost him. I'll name a time it advanced him. Let's see who wins.

Let that sink in. Really sink in. He won despite 2.8 million votes in the popular vote. Let that soak andcreallt sink in. I hope he never changes in the too. And I hope the Dems don't change either.

It's funny that we get offended when a president keeps it real and texts exactly like we post.

You know, after everyone said they wanted an outsider like us.

Seriously **** sounding presidential on Twitter. Speak to power bitches.
Some people like Trump because they don't care what the elites think. Others like Trump because they care far too much what the elites think.

You can refuse to play the game without acting like a jackass. One of the things I hated about Obama was his need to give us his wisdom from on high and comment on every little thing which most of the time resulted in him looking like a jackass. Trump has always been a thin skinned jackass so it's probably too much to ask for him to change his jackass spots.

Some of you all think Trump is "playing chess while everyone else plays checkers." I hope you're right but I'm fairly pessimistic.

I've always felt Trump was playing Chutes and Ladders while everyone else was playing checkers. It's a simpler, not more complicated game and it's been more effective because of it.

Is he a jackass? Yes. Sometimes it's awesome and sometimes it's cringeworthy, but I love the direct unfiltered access and the agonized reactions it causes when nobody gives a shit that it wasn't presidential.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the Chutes and Ladders remark that is exactly what I think is going on. My concern with it is that, just like with Obama, it will be a great strategy for winning an election but not so effective for governing. We shall see. You take the good with the bad if he can turn some things around in DC he can tweet all day long about SNL and the McMuffin guy and I'll gladly read every one.

Below is case-in-point about why Trump needs to stay on Twitter. (And not listen to @HighStickHarry)

A few days ago, Newt said Trump no longer wants to "drain the swamp."

Newt may have been referring to Trump no longer wanting to use the expression, or no longer planning to clean up DC. In any case, corporate media ran with Newt's story and it was pushed all across social media, and the story took a life of its own.

This single Tweet clears things up, goes around the media (directly to the American people), and instantly destroys 48 hours of media propaganda / social engineering.

Fair enough.

Time will tell. My basic theory though is that none of it is brain surgery (and in case it is, there's a brain surgeon in the cabinet).

I think we will find a less traditional politics and more business instinct driven path will be surprisingly rapid, easy and effective.

We've been trolled by professional politicians our whole lives and I've always believed a nonpolitical approach was necessary to really get shit done eventually.

Put it this way - if Trump isn't effective, the establishment will retake power and repair the glitch in the matrix that allowed a populist to subvert their system and crash the party. It may never happen again. He must succeed.

He's got a butt hurt knee jerk response to criticism that screams "I have a little dick".

If you're going to defend those tweets you're the Trump supporter equivalent to pilt, says, etc.

He can do no wrong!!!
