What stands out?

Here is another link that talks about this...

https://americanimmigrationcouncil.org/research/why-don’t-they-just-get-line

So, if they are here illegally, they can't just get in the line to get a green card because well, they aren't here legally. That sounds about right according to our laws. And there is a wait to get a green card because the number of green cards is limited. Sounds reasonable.

Summary, doesn't sound broken to me so far. Anything else broken about it?

You still aren't getting it. Quotes from the article that was linked to:

"Qualified family members in the United States can seek permission to bring in certain eligible foreign-born family members. U.S. citizens can petition for their spouses, parents, children, and siblings. Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs, or “green card” holders) can petition for their spouses and unmarried children. There are always visas available for the spouses, parents, and minor children of U.S. citizens, but for all other family categories there are annual numerical limits."

"The demand from both family members and workers who want to immigrate to the United States is typically higher than the number of slots available each year. In addition, there is a maximum number of employment-based and family-sponsored preference visas that can be issued to citizens of any one country in a single fiscal year. No country can receive more than seven percent of the visas available for the year. This results in significant backlogs for most family members and some workers hoping to enter the United States legally, with some immigrants from certain countries waiting decades."

"As of May 2016, for most countries, unmarried children of U.S. citizens must wait more than five years and siblings of U.S. citizens must wait more than 10 years. People from countries with high levels of immigration to the United States—Mexico, China, India, and the Philippines—generally have longer waiting times."

Notice the dates again that were given to you.

I'm sure his family wouldn't have made that video public had he been killed or now drives his wheelchair with a straw.

How do you know it was his family that made the video public?

Again, just not funny.

I get it just fine. Yes, there are limits on the numbers. That is what the law says. What is broken about having limits on the number of immigrants? I'm pretty sure the US isn't the only country on the planet with limits on numbers of immigrants. Having limits isn't "broken."

How do you know it was his family that made the video public?

Again, just not funny.
Well, unless they were hacked for a family video, they probably did make it public. Not rocket science.

Waiting since 1995 and waiting since 2010 is quite a big difference, wouldn't you say? Not to mention what the unequal wait times would be starting today and moving forward.

I am trying to show you how the system is inefficient and outdated. These inefficiencies lead to many of the problems we see today.

lol, how do you know it is family video? You love assumptions.

Whatever though. I am not going to have a debate about some gif. It just wasn't funny like many of the other gifs on here are.

Dude, seriously. It's clearly a private backyard pool. People usually don't let strangers hang out around their private backyard pool filming their kids. At least they don't on my planet.

So are you saying that there should be no limits to the numbers of immigrants? The availability of green cards (based on limits) is what causes the backlog.

Damn, I'm an idiot who just loves assumptions. Probably was some random stranger taking video of kids in a private backyard pool. Clearly.

So are you saying that there should be no limits to the numbers of immigrants?

Nope, not saying that at all. I am saying the process needs to be made more efficient and fair. We need to modernize the visa system, etc.

How can it be more fair? How can it be modernized? Don't just blurt out useless talking points. There are a limited number of green cards. Until one opens up, there aren't more and thus the wait. It's the law.

My goodness.

I just showed you! I wasn't trying to repeat useless talking points. You wanted me to show you, so I did. Then when I showed you, you wanted me just to tell you, lol. It gets kinda of old going around and around in circles with you Meds.

One more time. Here is another link to another article discussing some aspects of modernization...

http://www.blimmigration.com/visa-bulletin-and-green-card-modernization/

And here we go again, you just repeat yourself.

Read the article for goodness sakes.
I did read it. And here we go again. The broke part about our immigration system is that it isn't without limits or wait times (they do go together)? It isn't broken unless you believe in limitless visas. So, that brings me back to my original question. What's broken? Or do you believe in open borders that don't acknowledge limited visas?

I did note your avoidance of my correct assertion that the family released that terrible child death defying video...

That article didn't advocate for limitless visas. Nor have I.

Modernizing the visa system does not mean getting rid of the visa system. I've given you a few examples of ways it could be modernized and all you keep coming back with is this limitless visa nonsense (that apparently you want to argue against).

I did note your avoidance of my correct assertion that the family released that terrible child death defying video...

Because I told you I am not going to debate that .gif or video with you. You still don't know who it was that released the video or what happened to that kid. Neither do I. I just don't find it funny.

But hey, you were able to find the video on youtube, congrats!

You've given ZERO examples of how the visa system could be modernized. Not. Even. One. I'm not surprised though. Parroters of talking points usually lack any substance. Prove me wrong. How can it be modernized?

Regarding the gif video, thanks for acknowledging I was right. It's easy to know things, amiright?

I have, you just ignore them or don't understand them one. Whatever makes you feel better though Meds.

Enjoy your Friday night.

Nope. Not even one. Just the usual lefty talking point of "it's broken" with nothing to back it up. What's next on the where do I start list?

But did you see the video from the backyard stranger taking video of some kid while his parents sat there not wondering why a backyard stranger was videotaping their kid?

Me either, and I've tried all 31 flavors.
