Seems like a case where Dems felt like they were enabling themselves to use the military in case of post-election "Jan. 06 style" rioting, but have instead handed Trump the mechanism to use the military to work directly with law enforcement to enforce mass deportations, particularly of known criminal migrants who would/could be identified via the shared intelligence operations.
