DNC Chairman’s Winning Message for November

Question for us uncultured southern white guys....what's the difference between calling an African American: Negro vs. N****r? Is the former considered acceptable?

They mean 1,000 year MAGA dynasty.

Ehh....10 years ago, everyone said the Republican party was dead. That Obama had mobilized the party and the changing demographics would ensure that the Repubs would never recover. Now the reverse is being said, and its just as false. Eventually the Repubs will tilt further right, the Dems will tilt back towards the middle, and the paradigm will change.

With who is running the Dems today I am not sure they will ever tilt back toward the middle.

For them to tilt toward the middle would mean that they believed in this country and what it stands for.

Not gonna happen.

You missed my humor I was joking I should have put it in blue, not certain how or when people move more to the center, I have been waiting for 20 years for true moderates on both sides to show up and it seems moderates become more extreme on both sides and that is how moderates are redefined, which eliminates true moderates IMO. Seems like the gap is larger then ever before.

Imagine how long it will be when RBG gets replaced. Roberts is going to be the swing vote and could ultimately turn into a Souter---another Bush appointee.

Depending on when it happens, I would support Merrick Garland as RBGs replacement. I want some balance on the court but I want it to lean conservative. Slow, methodical change can be a good thing. But fast and dramatic change creates significant risks. A too conservative court will surpress positive changes. A too liberal court will change the country too fast and cause scores of associated issues. It would also be an olive branch to the country after the Kavanaugh nomination and surrounding fiasco.

But the question is, if you have a Dem controlled Senate, would they accept Garland as the nominee or would he not be left enough?

i think during the hearings i heard
garland and kav voted in concert 98% of the time?

Not quite that high, but their shared rulings were in alignment in over 90% of the cases. Ted Cruz had run with those stats. Kav isn't as far right as the media and left made him out to be. And Garland was middle enough that Obama thought he could get him through a Republican congress. But Garland is a moderate lefty and was replacing a stalwart righty, so it would have changed the balance significantly. Garland for RBG doesn't change the composition nearly as drastically as putting in Amy (Whatshername?) that most people think is next in line (particularly after the #metoo accusations). Again, all this assume RBG is the next justice to go. As shown by both of Trump's appointments, you just don't know.

The GOP isn't moving further to the right. It's moving more to the center.

Trump is a moderate.

People confuse his caustic style with him being a conservative.

He's continued the big government bent that W. and Obama both embraced -- that's clear when he signed the ridiculous omnibus bill.

He's the first candidate from either party that was vocally pro-LGBQT and was elected with that public position. (Obama converted, but only after he had been POTUS for a while.)

I can go on ...

(I do like his USSC appointees, however. That's the only reason I voted for him.)

Besides, the new metric isn't liberal vs. conservative. It's establishment politicians vs. anti-establishment.

1) To claim is the GOP is moving towards the center, just based on recent decisions, is disingenuous and silly.

2) Him being caustic isn’t a liberal/conservative argument...it’s an argument of how a president should act. Can you name anything about Trump that is truly presidential? No...you can’t. Period.

3) Just because he’s big government doesn’t unmake him a “conservative”...if anything we’ve seen that’s a BS conflation over the years. Reality is politicians spend, regardless of party. Fix it...no excuses that Republicans are in control. Fix it.

4) He may have ran as a pro-LGBQT candidate, but he is anything but that when the pen hits the paper.

5) To act like Trump is an outsider and hasn’t been part of the establishment directly or indirectly.....is comically wrong.

He hasn't gone on a worldwide apology tour, paid ransom to the largest state sponsor of terror, supported Muslim extremists in the Middle East, cowered numerous times on the world stage, etc...

So yeah, definitely not Presidential by recent standards.

This is so hilarious coming from you - about how anyone should act.

But, what about Trump is "presidential?" Who cares?

I wanted something different than R/D uniparty and thats what he is. Couldn't be happier with his job performance, tweets, speeches, antics and temperament.

He's a very stable genius. You on the other hand...
