Democrats Can't Condemn Anti-Jewish Bigots Emerging in Democrat Party

This may be news to someone whose idea of politics is impotent rage about what's on The View, but most people direct their attention to issues over which they have some semblance of agency.

Sounds pretty selfish, parochial and myopic. Especially for those living in the land of milk and honey.

too busy watching the Emmys so I know what to panic about next

I know you know I know you have zero depth on these issues. You don’t trust yourself to go too many sentences into it. While I appreciate the self awareness, I don’t understand the thrill you get out of peeing in the pool.

Harry I think I am finally brave enough to have a in depth dialogue with you about how panic inducing it was when Caitlyn Jenner was on the cover of SI

No you aren’t. Just like you werent brave enough to discredit dan bongino after you popped off. You are shallow.

Logic would say that hate crimes should be legal if they happen in low volumes?
How so? That makes no sense.

If murder was only happening in low numbers, should it be legal as well? Of course not.

I already did and you met with one liners that weren’t relevant. I’ve tried before. You are a waste of time.

But you know that.
Harry just tell me how many hate crimes it takes to be as important as the espys? If we are going to go into depth we need to quantify these things

If one were arguing hate crimes need to be as important as the espys we would be on our way to an actual conversation wouldn’t we?

If they gave Caitlyn Jenner another espy does the required number of hate crimes double?

Haven't read the thread. Don't find the current Democratic Caucus debate all that compelling. Doesn't seem likely to accomplish much of anything.
I'm over here saying do we really need Congress to pass a resolution condemning anti-Semitism? Do they not have anything better to do with their time? If the body feels the freshman rep's conduct was out of line, punish her accordingly and move on. This shit is ridiculous.

This is my favorite quote:

Asked if Omar should apologize, Pelosi said, “It’s up to her to explain,” adding, “I do not believe that she understood the full weight of the words.”

She’s just too stupid to know what she’s saying according to pelosi.
Or Pelosi is so afraid of AOC, and the other socialists that her linguini spine can't muster up the strength to stand up to them.

As I said, I haven't read the thread, so pardon me if this has already been covered.

Now it is morphing into more than just anti-Semitism. Anti-Islam, Anti-African American, Anti-Sikh, etc.

My response is...duh.

That’s definitely what is happening but why did she put herself in this position? The dem base loves what was said. Don’t forget pelosi is a liberal radical nut, she’s just been lapped by these new yahoos. What’s the point of this resolution anyway? The news cycle will take it out with the tide like everything else. Omar will either stop or she won’t, this other deal means nothing especially now that it will be vague.

Haha, it’s like if a fist fight broke out between two congressman, they congregated and came out w a resolution that fist fighting is bad. Either condemn/punish for the statements by the specific person, or don’t. Pretty simple.

Should Nancy include her own public video in the resolution?

Aren’t Nancy’s own public words essentially validating what Omar wrote?

And why are well-lobbied, multimillionaire politicians from both political parties working harder to attack the words of a Somali refugee than fixing our crumbling infrastructure? (Or reversing our declining life expectancy)

Choice A because they support Israel adamantly

Choice B they need to support Israel adamantly to maintain their career

We have the silliest congress. I wish educated people would really drill down to this complete and utter waste of time. We are paying their salaries and they essentially are taking days to pass a resolution that says and does nothing. What an embarrassment.

@NZ Poke Let me float a new theory for you. Israel gets our money and support because if they didn’t exist who would Muslims hate next? They are almost like a military outpost of the US that draws the ire of the Muslim world while we sit safely an ocean away.

What would Israel look like without our aid? What do we get out of them being strong with nukes (sshhh)? I think it makes strategic sense but kind of cruel to the citizens of Israel to be our buffer if you subscribe to this theory.

How was he supposed to do that with an establishment GOP and a unified block voting DNC? EO's? Because it sure as hell wasn't going to be legislation.

That’s what I say, supposedly trump is a dictator but he is getting the brunt of our founding fathers purposeful allocation of power. It’s not his fault the Dems are political terrorists who actively participate in cultural sabotage. It’s not his fault there weren’t 10,000 loyal bureaucrats waiting to be hired to drain the swamp. It’s not his fault everyone on capital hill wants to stay up there no matter what they have to do. It’s not his fault 40 repub house members retired because of their own #metoo secrets.

Very fair and valid questions. You’re correct re the legislation part.

Two related points that will be the subject of books and studies in the coming years and decades, if the world in its current form still exists:

1. After Trump handed the GOP majorities it didn’t want, fight for or deserve, why did the GOP make so little effort to work with him on the agenda he was elected to fulfill?

Paul Ryan in particular likely did more to sabotoge Trump than the Dems.

2. Why did Trump hire so many people who were lukewarm to his agenda, or opposed to it? That’s probably the single biggest catastrophe of his term, and it’s on him.

His daughter and son in law should be nowhere near his administration.

In both cases, the Swamp critters believe the Trump-Russia collusion and figured he would be gone soon and Pence would be the milquetoast they preferred to work with.
