Man, I used to be on the left. (At least socially -- and I'm still very much a libertarian -- can't wait for legalized Mary Jane, so much economic and health potential)
But the left's three-decade transformation from protecting speech into policing speech -- no thank you.
We are the only country in the history of the world with near absolute free speech --- anyone who takes it for granted is beyond foolish. (And ignorant of history)
