Obama announces to the world that we are going to withdraw from Iraq on a certain date. We bail. ISIS sees this as another Vietnam retreat/surrender. Good read by them. ISIS goes on the offensive, taking cities and expanding their territory. They set up government, they print currency, they get stronger. A colossal blunder by an idiot who couldn’t restrain himself from a political grandstanding play before his reelection.
Trump or somebody called the Russians right before missles struck a Syrian airfield. How effective of a military strategy was this? Probably not much. What has happened since then? That’s a serious question, as this has faded from the headlines. Did the Russians get the message that there’s a new sheriff in town? I assume that was the intent of he missle strike. Did it work?
