Can you catalog the damage? Other than of course keeping my taxes lower - thanks for fighting hard for that BTW.
I believe progressivism would lead us to pass many policies that a strong majority of Americans want and would benefit the average American. Our country would be much better off. I also believe a true progressive President could be just as popular as FDR was. FDR was elected to be President four times by the American people. Should tell you something.
With that said, I'm happy with left of center Biden right now. He is doing a good job and racking up the wins. I, of course, would like to see more done on a number of issues, but I'm pragmatic and understand the current political environment.
I don’t think our friend understands or thinks he’s a socialist. In fact I’d bet he’d say he isn’t. And I think he’d be right. He won’t publicly declare himself to be a socialist until the Democratic Party publicly declares itself to be sociakist. At that point he will argue endlessly on the benefits that socialism promises. You have to understand he is an empty vessel that can only fill up with the talking points provided by his sacred party. He’s our own private Kamala Harris.

If @LAY THE WOODY wants to know where progressivism would lead us, he should study some history. Of course, I wouldn't be shocked if he opposed much of what progressivism has given to our country.

I sincerely hope the country lasts that long. And if Biden gets reelected I’ll hope the country outlasts that, too. I want to be convinced that someone could wrest the reins of power away from the Democrats. But I have almost no faith in any Republican. I do think a Republican would be better than Biden and the people running his administration..

I personally prefer calling myself a progressive. I have no objection though to most of what democratic socialists advocate for and I am a strong supporter of Bernie Sanders, who calls himself a democratic socialist. I personally think Sanders is more of a social democrat though and I think I'm more of a social democrat than I am a democratic socialist.
If someone wants to call me a democratic socialist though, I won't object. And I have no problem voting for and supporting democratic socialists.

Again Putin Dan, the country will last that long and will also still be here come 2028. The only real threat to this country right now is the authoritarianism, anti-democracy, and neo-fascism that Trump represents/embraces. But Trump's power seems to be decreasing and I have faith that a majority of Americans will continue to reject Trumpism.
