It is comical considering how one-sided CNN was in their gun control debate.
Both channels have their biases... it's pretty simple

I don't recall Tapper shutting the crowd down too many times or at all.
That environment was set up to railroad Rubio and Dana.

They are all just echo chambers for different groups. Fox News has higher ratings because more folks from their demo still watch TV for news. The markets CNN and MSNBC cater to gather their news from other mediums so I personally don't care much for ratings as an indicator of much of anything beyond Fox can ask for more from their advertisers. I do follow Jake Tapper on Twitter and think he's fairly rational, I might disagree with some of his stances but he's generally well thought out in his beliefs.
Admittedly I didn't watch much of the CNN gun townhall but the little I did see I thought it was hastily put together and offered very little value to an actual civilized discussion about gun control. Sadly though civilized discussions are a thing of the past.

Second, I feel compelled to explain why I have to leave. Four decades ago, I took an oath as a newly commissioned officer. I swore to "support and defend the Constitution," and that oath did not expire when I took off my uniform. When prime-time hosts--who have never served our country in any capacity--dismiss facts and empirical reality to launch profoundly dishonest assaults on the FBI, the Justice Department, the courts, the intelligence community (in which I served) and, not least, a model public servant and genuine war hero such as Robert Mueller--all the while scaremongering with lurid warnings of "deep-state" machinations-- I cannot be part of the same organization, even at a remove. To me, Fox News is now wittingly harming our system of government for profit.
As a Russia analyst for many years, it also has appalled me that hosts who made their reputations as super-patriots and who, justifiably, savaged President Obama for his duplicitous folly with Putin, now advance Putin's agenda by making light of Russian penetration of our elections and the Trump campaign. Despite increasingly pathetic denials, it turns out that the "nothing-burger" has been covered with Russian dressing all along. And by the way: As an intelligence professional, I can tell you that the Steele dossier rings true--that's how the Russians do things.. The result is that we have an American president who is terrified of his counterpart in Moscow.
I do not apply the above criticisms in full to Fox Business, where numerous hosts retain a respect for facts and maintain a measure of integrity (nor is every host at Fox News a propaganda mouthpiece--some have shown courage). I have enjoyed and valued my relationship with Fox Business, and I will miss a number of hosts and staff members. You're the grown-ups.
Also, I deeply respect the hard-news reporters at Fox, who continue to do their best as talented professionals in a poisoned environment. These are some of the best men and women in the business..

I get that you don’t like Fox News. But what metric is kicking their ass? Typically networks are judged in ratings. But that can’t be what is “kicking Fox News’s ass lately” because Fox doesn’t just beat CNN in ratings ... they dominate CNN in ratings. In fact, they have beat CNN for 193 straight months (if ratings were basketball entertainment then CNN would be the Washington Generals).
Now if you say you were checking your alphabet and CNN came in three letters ahead of Fox News and that it kicked their ass in alphabetical order, then you are correct.

Ratings don’t mean you’re winning the search for truth and objectivity in journalism. Yes, I’m saying CNN is kicking Fox’s ass in that category. That shouldn’t even have to be said haha. doctored emails, Fox Seth Rich defamation lawsuit, etc.
Friendly reminder that CNN coached citizens' responses at a post-debate poll. CNN and Faux News are opposite sides of the same coin. CNN is kicking ass in airports via long-dated contracts and that's about it.

I think the problem with debates nowadays is many folks confuse opinions as facts. Not sure who you can quantify who is killing the other by modern day "facts." Like I said before these networks are nothing more than echo chambers. The claims one might make that CNN is killing the other with facts, the other side can make the same claim. If CNN speaks to your demo then they are killing it with facts, if Fox speaks to your demo they are killing it with facts because that's how you want to believe and are more willing to accept their opinionfacts. Why anyone watches these networks anymore is beyond me.
Funny thing is that in multiple countries CNN is state TV. Zucker just sold controlling interest in CNN Turkey to the current Turkish regime and in the Philippines they are more or less controlled by that government as well often times not even covering the news if the govt there does not want then to.

Clearly, if you turn it on every day, you are going to answer "yes". If you almost never watch it, you are going to answer "no". If you occasionally turn it on, roll your eyes and turn it off, you are going to answer "no". If you rarely watch TV news, but almost always watch Fox News when you do, answer "yes".
I'm very curious about this. Speaking for myself, I almost never watch TV news. I try to stay away from both CNN and FOX when I do turn it on. Occasionally I will watch one or the other while taking everything with a shaker of salt.
