Because it’s a commodity without a ton of slack and most US crude is among the best quality in the world.

There just isn't a lot of excess capacity. If China stops buying from the US, then they will buy it from someone else, which will displace some other customer and create new demand for US oil. It is just musical chairs.

I thought US oil companies were bad. Climate, profit, etc, etc. Shouldn't we be celebrating anything that might eat up some of the profits they get from raping everything A to Z, including people named Charlie and the squirrels that live in the attic of that house on West 57th Place?
