Anyone had this done? I'm not looking forward to it. The restrictions don't sound fun

No being in a car for 4 weeks
No driving for 6 weeks

Hmmm.

Also, anyone know anything about Dr Emily Friedman?

Tomorrow is 2 weeks out from my C 3, 4, 5, and 6 diskectomy and fusion. The first week sucks. It hurts like hell to swallow. The pain meds made me nauseated and I puked hard one night. That sucked. After the first week, it is pretty reasonable recovery.

I had heard about the swallowing. A little concerned about that. Were you able to eat at all?

Thanks for the info.

Stock up on oatmeal, yogurt, pudding, jello, apple sauce, etc. I lost 10 lbs the first week. Swallowing can still be tough. But it is managable. I found that tilting my head down helps.

Dr. Friedman is as good as it gets in okc. Some don't like her bedside manner, but she's an excellent surgeon.

Thank you so much for that. I wanted to hear someone knew something of her.

I've heard now twice that her bedside manner needs work, but she's always been pretty nice to me...so far

I've got one issue with a nerve on my RH dude that she's concerned with. She said she'd "have to be very careful" when working with it, and if she couldn't, I would heal up and she would go in through the back of the neck during another surgery.

Was just looking for reassurance I guess.
