So, I haven’t watched the game, but with 1.5 minute left, the score is 61-55 BU. When Tech played KU, neither team broke 60. When KU played OU, neither team broke 65.
Our lowest point total, in conference games, was 70 against KSU. We scored at least 74 in our other games , and broke 80 against Tech and WVU.
Seems pretty clear that we are speeding up games, leading to more possessions for both teams. For all the bitching about our offense, we clearly have plenty. But, game pace probably explains why our guys look gassed and have prolonged second half scoring droughts .
I‘m not sure if slowing the pace makes sense, as I think this is the best recipe for success with this roster. But, I think it is interesting to look at this team from a game pace and number of possessions standpoint. It reminds me a lot of what Ford claimed he wanted his teams to be, but was never able to make it happen.
