Brayton Lee committed to Minnesota

I think the problem is he is projected at 149, which wasn't really a need for us. Plus, very little money freeing up next year. Would rather have Wittlake, at least under the circumstances.

He seems like a good kid, I wish him well there. I'm very happy landing Travis, an elite recruit at a need weight. So we lose Dean, who was ranked around 15 coming out, and replace him with a top 5 recruit plus a couple of hard working lower ranked recruits. For me, no more biting of the tongue and no more complaints.

Lets start dreaming for next year. My take on "need" weights 157-165-197-HWT. Already have Kerkvleit committed. One 197 who might be slightly under the radar is Marcheselli from Broken Arrow. Dustin Plot from Tuttle might fit, maybe Zane Coleman from Choctaw. Just taking a shot at locals there that might fit in next year.

I’ve got to imagine we won’t have much money in the coming years. We need some Oklahoma HS studs but I have no idea if there are any coming up soon.

those 3 are all top 100 kids. Another possibility depending on who grows into what is AJ Ferrari from Allen, TX. 174-184, unless he grows a lot. Not much money next year, I think-but should have quite a bit for 2020.

As I indicated in the next year thread we should lots of financial aid available for 2019 because we will lose a lot of wrestlers after next year( White, Jacoby Smith, Rogers, Weigel, Martinez, Blaylock, Magaldo, and Blake Andrews. You are right about 2020 being a big year for recruiting but 2019 needs to be also. Marcheselli will be near the top of the 97ers in 2019. Plott is only a sophomore and so will not graduate until 2020. I think he is the best prospect in Oklahoma from what I saw at the 32 tournament.

The three OK kids are all top 100 kids nationally and will be very important due to pedigree and location. Weir from SS (125), Phillips from Lawton (HWT) and Potter from BA (184) are also top 100 national recruits.

Don't Marcheselli will be under the radar long as I think he will end up one of the top ranked prospects at his weight.

Marcheselli may be considering football offers too. I hope not even if OSU football offers. I really wish we could have seen Paul Duren on the mat at OSU. Coleman would be a great fit in next year’s class. Ferrari looks like he could end up at 184/197. He competed at 195 at preseason nationals. Being a class of 2020, he still has some growing to do.

I hope there is room for a couple of light weights also to have redshirting replacements for Pic, Brock etc.
