Bo Bassett

I highly recommend listening to Willie and Basch (mostly Willie lol) they did a show this morning about all this. Its free on Youtube. They discuss what they heard about his departure. No Brands wont and shouldnt be fired. I think the Bassetts are good people but want to give a little to much input and I think Tom got his fill sounds like. Whoever takes them on will have to deal with all that. Couldve been some money issues but I think the writing was on the wall.

The only way I see us going after Bo is if Iowa somehow flips the Raneys with some now freed up money. Melvin fits in better in the upper weights (he's a stud) for us in the future much more than Bo fits currently but who knows.

DT is still going to go after Bo. As he should. He's in town today. I'm sure conversations will be had.

OSU and PSU fan bases be like thank you Lord that it's not us getting savaged ... I have a feeling this isn't nearly over for Iowa.

....does possible Greco RTC affect Bo, the Raneys, or etc...?...where are the Cowboys on that?............

I know this is OT, but Im amazed that Iowa fans will do anything they can to stand behind the Brands'. I've said forever that they owe a decade worth of paychecks to Spencer Lee for saving their asses. It's like they don't realize they are Iowa and are fine not being in the conversation for #1.

Part of me wanted to see how they could miraculously turn Bo into Gullibon. They're margin for error is just so incredibly small and they don't even realize it.

I don't see a HS kid decommitting costing a coach his job . That's an overreaction . Bob has said when Tom is done so is he. I know many are jealous of the guy and his $ but the name calling is a bit much it's just a sport. We are all wrestling people and anyone who donates millions to our sport is good with me regardless if I like how they made the $ they have as long as they did it legally

I agree that with much of what you say. Kudos to Mr. Nichols for investing in wrestling. But Slumlord Bob is still an entertaining nickname.

WIth Ira now opening a casino is it time he gets a nickname? Or is owning apartments more scummy than owning a casino?

I know you're just defending the honor of your favorite team's donor but don't be so soft. Bob certainly isn’t afraid to call people a lot worse names than slumlord. You get what you earn.

And sure, throw out some nicknames for Ira. Let's see if you come up with something funny. Maybe DoubleDown Ira? All-in Ira?

Icky Ira🤷 and Richy Richison 🤷 how did I do ?

Who's in town? You must've read that someone else said that and you ran with it. Come on man I thought you had actual sources🤣 Metcalf not talking to you now why's he mad at his ex teammate
Naw. Got sent the camp flyer. Source got the dates wrong. So later this week. And don't act like you bat 100, you sober mitch. LOL

I have to say that I am over Bo and wherever he goes.
I think that’s a little much, but I will say as a brother in Christ, phrasing this all like he has with his faith kinda bothers me. The first commitment and giving glory, sure that’s great. But the decommitment language was just too much for me. I however, will still wish the young kid the best of luck and I can’t imagine making the decisions these kids make nowadays with the money involved.

Lots of talk about guys training at RTCs who live outside the 250 mile radius. Compliance at Oklahoma st is under the impression that having an apartment in town makes it so you can train at the RTC . UsaW says it's the address where you live permanently and where your parents reside and claim you on taxes. Now this isn't an NCAA violation it's an RTC violation. And I have never heard of anyone getting in trouble for a 250 mile violation. The RTCs are the ones paying to train guys for Usaw so them enforcing the rules is a weird one. Rumors are the 250 mile rule will be going away soon 🤷

So why then was this an Iowa University compliance issue if the beef is actually between the RTC and USAW? That does not compute.

Possible they're training in town but not at the RTC

Lots of talk of the Bassett's demands and difficulty to deal with, IF true they sound like another Ferrari family in disguise and we should say thanks but no thanks

I have some land for sale on the next Hawaiian island are you interested?
And I'm sure you believe that Buchanan and Teemer truly had a epiphany last summer that they need to be in Iowa City, applied and just showed up and called Brands the first day of class that they want to walk on.

Iowa's compliance department signed off on that story because it fits the rules but yeah, they had zero way to work around this complex RTC issue to ensure they land Bassett and Miller

Follow along with the rules . A 3rd party like Bob could call any athlete at any university and make an offer. That wasn't illegal at all. Does everyone agree with it no they don't but that didn't make it illegal.

Iowa put together a few camps for Bo to come and train at Iowa and it never worked out in the Bassett family schedule. So Desanto went to PA and trained with Bo. Iowa isn't giving HS kids cars others are. They just wanted what everyone else was getting is what was said. And Iowa couldn't allow him to train at the RTC like others do

Everyone wants a smoking gun with this story and it's actually really simple

Who said they broke any rules? They just showed up on campus remember? Why would anyone just make up a story like that.

Bob gave Bo $10M and couldn't provide airline tickets and cars? What a cheap bastard. Next time, pay $9.5M and provide all the tickets and cars you can. Trust me, there's a lesson in there somewhere.

No way the insider @AtownPoke said 5 million 🤣. Also when you make a deal you make a deal. Going back and adding to a deal usually doesn't happen in business as you know

That is probably a little bit of a poor comparison. The Mom is super sweet, the Dad is very confident and the boys are well-mannered, hyper-focused on Wrestling young men.

Thats how you answer the question because anything else would be illegal. Tom cant say anything about what happened because he wasn't involved a 3rd party was.
That’s laughable, bob by himself decided to act on going after wrestlers not in the portal at very much needed weights for iowa. Without any input from tom, come on corby stop covering for your hawks.
