Couple questions bout Durbin asking if he would ask for a FBI investigation and wait for the results.

1. Could he and the GOP make the play to say, Yes, complete a FBI investigation regarding this matter and if no guilt found, you (the Dems) sign that the approval is done .. Not even sure they could do this but let's say they could.

2. Even if the FBI investigate, what percent of the Dems (or Flake) in the senate would change their vote?


I highly suspect the answers would be NO and 0%

Disagree. If there was any significant findings that could credibly link him to this assualt, I think there would be a number of Repubs who would vote him down. In fact, there'd be enough that the vote would never even take place. However, that presumes there is even enough information to initiate a real investigation, and at this point, if its there, it hasn't been released.

Because there is not enough evidence to warrant any further background investigations. The details of the accussed events have been layed out by the accuser and defended by the nominee. Delaying it further provides no benefit to anyone and is simply a waste of time and resources. Now the government has a history of wasting both, but there is no need to do so here.
