Haisten: "Gundy has just been gushing about this spring every time we have had a media availability. If you come out of Saturday healthy, then I think this will have been an if not an A+ spring certainly a solid A. I think the reason for that is Gundy is thrilled to death about the guys he has hired as assistant coaches. I think he has an immediate high level of trust in those guys. I think he is both relived and please about that and Greg Adkins maybe the star of the spring. The most pressing issue entering the spring was cleaning up the offensive line and every time I ask about it I get positive responses. I think the program is in great shape and Mike is really happy with the guys he has hired."
Haisten: "I have got to say I have finally figured out who Washington reminds me of. I watched him make a routine play, but when he collected the ball and turned up field I thought ah that's who he reminds me of. He reminds me of Mark Clayton from OU, not a tall guy, but a real physical, extremely athletic, with great hands. You're right James Washington against Ramon Richards or Ashton Lampkin is a beautiful matchup to watch. Gundy put it best that on 3rd downs this season Brandon Sheperd will be the guy they look at and will target the most during the season, but I think that Washington will be the more prominent touchdown maker."
Haisten: "Have you let your listeners [talking to RA] know about #20(Jordan Burton)? I think your listeners are going to be really excited to watch Jordan Burton, a JUCO transfer. He was a lifetime safety and comes to Oklahoma State and you watch him run around at LB and think holy moly what an intimidating figure he must have been at the safety position. Some one in that building the other day said that Burton may have a higher ceiling as an NFL guy than any other guy in the building. He is just a striker, he just hits people and seems to have great instincts. I don't know that I was really conditioned to watch him till I kept hearing his name over and over. You (RA) would ask about him, Mike would bring him up, so more recently I have really made it a point to watch him. You talk about 2 really good looking newcomers on the defensive side, in Maile and Burton. You can typically tell the the JUCO guys need to catch up physically, and I'm sure these guys had to adjust to the rob Glass system, but dadgum they look the part already."
