Chad Weiberg just said (on Robert Allen's radio show) that the Big 12 Baseball Tournament will move to Surprise, AZ (in the northwest part of the Phoenix metro area) but did not say when/what year that will occur.

The stated problems with the current location (Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX) are the massive size of the current location (meaning: mostly empty) and the expense.

He didn't say whether he meant the cost to the Big 12 conference to use that facility or if he meant the cost to the fans, but I can tell you from personal experience that everything there is expensive and, in my view, overpriced ($22.50 for nachos, $8 for a bottle of water, etc.).

Surprise Stadium seats between 10,000 and 11,000. I think it's the spring training location for the Texas Rangers.
