Coming from the Viet Nam era I can understand your feelings on the draft. I was way to young to have the same experience and can see where a draft in peacetime would be very beneficial to this country, provided Democrats haven't turned the military into another one of their woke playgrounds. The youth of this nation has absolutely no respect or understanding of what sacrifices it took to make the country they are so very critical of. Let them get a small taste of what it's like to serve and protect this country from those who wish it harm.
You should never view the draft as being of benefit to a society. It is involuntary servitude plain and simple, completely opposite from the workings of a free society.
