Betsy DeVoss is a brain dead fundamentalist.

She is a moron who happens to be on the right side of the issue. Happens. I wish she wasn't in the role she was in, but it doesn't change my perspective on school choice.

I would note that per huffpo (2013 number) 91% of all students attend public school, and 9% in private or home schooling. Per toptieradmissions.com, Ivy schools admit 25% of their incoming freshman from 'private' schools. This math clearly shows value of the 'private' education over the 'public' education. Now this doesn't equate all private schools as good or all public schools as bad. But if they were 'equal', the best colleges in the land wouldn't have nearly a 3x greater ratio of private vs. public enrollment. Were I asked the question, this is the kind of evidence I would espouse.

I dont need my methods questioned. Don't over interpret a 5 minute google search and answer as an in-depth analysis of charter schools vs. public. Its just one easily accessible data point. That said, we've had charter schools long enough that frankly, I'm dissappointed in the lack of concrete data available analyzing the school types on different performance metrics (graduation rates; state test scores; etc).

Really? There are lots of academicish white papers published by pro charter school think tanks. Just google "charter school evidence pdf."
