Before the year I got to go to Ford's for a pre season kickoff dinner. Great weekend as it was same day as the golf Pro Am.
All the players and coaches were there along with other alums.
Ford told me they hadn't practiced a ton, but had done a ton of stuff together. He was hoping to create great chemistry and get each to pull for the other. He said we have 4 players with a ton of experience who would play a lot minutes and the rest would fight for few minutes....so he wanted to make sure they pulled for each other. (No Brian Williams)
I thought the biggest play of the game last night was when Newberry dove for the ball and called timeout. The entire bench bolted for him. Carroll would love to play more. So would Burton I'm sure, but I love watching the bench react when Forte hits a 3 or Cobbins gets a block.
