When the stadium was built, we heard about a locker room beining built that was suppose to be for former players only. The Holliday family claimed the dirty little secret in minor league baseball was that MLB really does not offer these players great facilities and coaching in the off season. The OSU program was going to open our facilities to former OSU players, provide use of the facilities, our former player locker room, and if they wanted access to our coaches. And they attend class at OSU and complete their degree. Even if this locker room was not built, the facility has locker rooms. I have heard nothing more of this.

What if, we tried to turn O'Brate and the facilities in to a regional training center for minor and major league professional players? Let's steal from Wrestling and tweak it. Why limit it, to just former OSU players? Why not allow all former college players? Imagine having HS camps and all these minor and major league players around to look up to and show these players how it is done, just to be around them? I would like nothing better than former minor league and pro players of the top 15 college programs saying positive things about OSU training facilities and our coaches, and how great is it for the OSU program that is assisting former college players with top facilities. Want to really get aggressive? Include current college players. Maybe that helps in the portal.

What if OSU created a " MLB combine" for HS players and college players getting ready to enter the draft?

We have this Taj Mahal facility, well turn it in to the mecca for HS and college players.

Right now, OSU can not afford to pay what Texas, LSU, etc. pay for coaches. We need to hire a really good baseball coach that really knows their way around HS and College baseball, and preferably in this region and extending some if possible in to the southeastern part of the country. If a new HC can get the program going, and this program can attract great talent, with great success O'Brate can be sold out, and ticket prices could be doubled IMO, perhaps sponsorship grown, and can you get OSU baseball in the black with an operating budget that allows competing at the highest level. And if you can create the first Regional Training Center for HS players, current college, and former college players? How much can you elevate yourself in the pecking order of college baseball?
