Bernie and Jane Sanders, under FBI investigation for bank fraud, hire lawyers

Mrs. Sanders listed 1.2 million in confirmed/committed donations when securing a multi million dollar loan for the school to purchase land. The actual amount was just over 100k less than 10% of what she claimed.

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

She is in deep shit. And if he used his influence to help this transaction along, he is in deep shit also.

Allegedly, of course.

Yep. His defense saying that his "wife is the most honest person I know" means he doesn't know too many honest people. And, in some #fakenews outlets or a memo from a former FBI Director, his defense of her could be construed as "Obstruction of Justice".

This "matter" has been known about for a while. I recall hearing something about it six months (ish) ago.

The fact that the investigation is not going away, and is growing is not a good sign for them.

Can we add Susan Rice? But only because she's a black female according to her.

Damn, the "strawman-wtf" shit the dems come up with when bitch slapped by the reality of their lies/fake bullshit is truly sickening. I guess the bitch doesn't know the "real world" meaning of lying POS vs. her lame-ass convenient race card. Nice try, but it won't play in Peoria, or anywhere else, for that matter.

F that socialist cuck - which I mean almost literally.

What kind of man watches the DNC gang rape of his antiAnerican presidential campaign get exposed by Wikileaks before quietly submitting to his beta role and saying nothing in his own defense before falling in line to his leftist overlords - thus alienating his idiotic supporters?

A dick. That's what kind.

Very well said. The man deserves no respect.

I'll admit he had my interest during the primary (I voted for him in OK) because of the way he voted on gun issues. After it was clear Hillary colluded with the DNC to screw his campaign, instead of manning up and raising hell about the corruption, he gladly inhaled his own ballsack as instructed and then asked for seconds. I will never give that pathetic dipshit another serious thought even if he's running against Hillary again. At least she has balls.

Prediction: Nothing will come of this investigation. Other than Bernie spending a lot of money on expensive lawyers.

@Marshal Jim Duncan - what would be typical for misrepresenting pledged assets or some such on a loan app?
I haven't followed this too closely, but I'd say it's unlikely she would see jail time. It might to depend upon whether this was a one-time thing or whether there was a pattern of this type of misrepresentation. Having a husband who is a U.S. Senator certainly doesn't hurt when deciding what the proper penalty ought to be (assuming she actually did commit a crime).

If her actions/misstatements, followed by the shuttering of the college, led to a large loan loss, she could be subject to a rather large civil money penalty.

I would presume her favorable terms included nonrecourse carve outs, though fraud (rather than simple incompetence) would make her civilly liable still wouldn't it?

You can't contract away fraud, but fraud does have a higher standard to meet compared to contract breaches or misrepresentations.

LOL

“I find it incredibly sexist that basically he’s going after my husband by destroying my reputation, and that’s not OK,” Jane Sanders told the Boston Globe."

this reminds me of the grade school nerds who would yell "times!" (timeout) to avoid getting blasted in the face by a dodgeball or tackled in smear the queer.

Who in the hell did the underwriting on that loan and are they still employed? Were they investigated for trying to buy influence?

People we know have done time for less.
I don't think you can blame underwriting apparently Senator Bernie Sanders interceded for his wife with bank management.

Nothing works better than a good strong arm from a US Senator to make a bank issue a bad loan.
