Auburn fan with a question....

We recently moved our Tiger Hosts - male and female hosts for visiting prospective athletes - out of the Athletic Department and to Admissions.

Supposedly this has something to do with an incident at Ok. State. Can somebody clue me in on what this incident was?

Thanks.

What happened here was a fOU student, that considered himself a journalist, wrote a slam piece about OSU that was featured in Sports Illustrated. The NCAA then investigated, found no issues with our program and some of the OSU related peeps followed up by file lawsuits against the dirtburgler with the SI mouthpiece.

Long and short, any changes that were made at Auburn would have only referenced allegations made against O-State, not actual events.

The NCAA ruled that such programs as Orange Pride should not be organized and controlled by the athletic department but should reside with the office of admissions. They can't only be used to tour prospective student athletes but must hold tours with other prospective students too who may wish to tour under the office of admissions. Because OSU had it under their athletic department it was ruled we had to discontinue the program or one like it for four years and if it is brought back it must be under the office of admissions.
