You won’t understand the intellectual heft behind the concept by Googling things you can ignorantly say about it trying to dismiss it.

They are certainly dumbshits, but “deviant” depends on the population sample. Take Dan and boy_humper for example. As dumbshits, the two are certainly deviants around here, but they’re probably both the norm at their family dinners/gatherings.
Just going by what topics he will and won’t broach, I’m sticking with deviant.
He wasn't hand-selected by God, which btw, should be capitalized you heathen. But what, if not God, leads a multi-billionaire, who has a beautiful wife, a string of successful businesses, and several healthy and brilliant children to choose to run for the presidency in the first place? He didn't need it. He didn't come from politics so it wasn't the "next logical step" in his career, like it was for Hillary, or Obama, or Biden, or Bush. And who, if not God, gives Trump the patience and fortitude to go through all the crap (including 2 assassination attempts) from 2021-2024 in order to run again? I'm a faithful man, but I doubt that I would have had that kind of resilience, particularly if the alternative was to sit around in Mar Largo, banging my ex-supermodel wife and drinking Mai Tais. God may not have hand-selected Trump, but if you can't see God's involvement in him being where he is today, then you are simply refusing to look.

I've looked but damned if I can find anything godly about the man. He was raised by a psychopathic father who got dementia in his later years and who drove one of his sons to die from alcoholism and Trump himself coped by becoming a thin-skinned anti-moral narcissist of epic proportions. I would postulate that it is the narcissism that "drove" him to want the presidency. At 78 years old he is still trying to earn his father's blessing.
One doesn't have to be Godly to do God's work. And there's a whole lot of giant narcissists in this world, who couldn't sniff the presidency, much less overcome the lawfare, libel, and even literally bullets that Trump has to win a second term. I offer the worldly famous narcissists Hillary Clinton and Michael Bloomberg as exhibit A & B.

As Trump has aged his emotional outbursts are getting worse. I offer no excuse for why the Democrats and the establishment of both parties have treated him the way they have, but I think you are in error to think he's doing God's bidding. I read somewhere that Trump is very worried that he will get dementia like his father had, and frankly as we watch his erratic emotional reactions, things that have earned him the nickname "Taco Don," one can't help but wonder if he is worried for a reason. It is astonishing to me to see that anyone would think Trump has been sent by God to save us. His entire modus operandi is to drive a wedge between us and roil up hate. That does not strike me as something God would encourage. OTOH what do I know? There are millions of Americans who believe what Israel is doing to its neighbors has been sanctioned by God. Go figure.
"Established by" (the words in the bible) and "Servant of" (your words) are not the same thing. Given your expansive global knowledge and readings, I would assume you'd know that.
I am relatively well read but I don’t see much difference between saying “God established Mao with the intent to starve a sizable portion of his own people” and saying “Mao was one of God’s servants with the purpose of starving a sizable portion of the Chinese population.” Would you please be so kind as to explain how those two statements are different?

Come now, don’t abandon the conversation just as it’s getting interesting. Let me put it another way: I read that Biblical admonition to say we should all accept without question the type of governance under which we are born because it has been established by God. Frankly I don't know how anyone could read it differently. So that leads to this question: were the American revolutionaries, our Founding Fathers, in breach of God's command when they revolted against King George who had been established by God to be their authority?
