Archery Elk in Colorado?

Hi all, My and a long time OSU buddy are thinking of doing a drop camp archery elk hunt if not this Sept. then plan for next Sept.
Looking at area 54 near Gunnison. Thoughts? Anyone do this before? We may even go Traditional archery for it but that is yet another level of handicap. Ideas welcome! Any better areas we might can get drawn into?
