Anyone else finding out if they get a raise today? (nm)

I assume he's part of the 4 states that have minimum wage initiatives in the ballot.

I believe he is a teacher hoping for the terrible 779 bill to pass.

I'm likely voting for it, but it is such shitty legislation and piling more tax dollars on to fix a problem that should be fixed be reducing admin expense.

No I'm waiting to find out if my bank account will take hit because I'll be paying more in sales tax.

I'm waiting to see if my wife gets a raise, even though we're both voting no for it.

I ended up voting no. Couldn't do it.

Sorry, I believe OP likely deserves a raise, but I'd rather gut the admin costs (from district through state) and get it that way.

I'm optimistic our Republican-controlled legislature, Governor or indicted Secretary of Education will have a better, follow up measure up for consideration soon.

Just kidding! Welcome to example 500 of republican bitching and obstructing to keep taxes low and in the process, never improving anything.

Wichita is getting more and more attractive for shopping with the increasing sales tax in Enid and NW OK. It's the same distance as OKC and Tulsa, plus they have Menard's. If you ever go to one of these stores you will never go to Home Depot or especially Lowes again.

I read an article that with the sales tax Enid just passed to take water from Kaw Lake and if this state sales tax passes, Enid OK will have to highest sales tax in the country.

With some of the lowest property and income taxes in the country.

Voted yes on everything except the sales tax increase. Screw that.

The legislature needs to do their job and fix this. If the majority of the money went to teacher salaries (not administration and higher ed) I would of voted for it.

Instead of taxing working people why don't we increase oil and gas production taxes? Aren't we one of the lowest in the country?

Hey! Why don't you leave us the f**k alone. Shut disposal wells in, make your drilling rigs quieter, quit tearing up our roads, quit killing all the fish and wildlife, quit raising the sea levels and temperatures, quit polluting our air. When does it end. Geez.

Do we, or do we not have some of if not the lowest oil and gas taxes in the country?

I'm all for the oil and gas industry but let's go where the money is not increasing poor peoples sales tax.

F**k O&G crybabies. I'm tired of them screwing up our land and then crying about oil prices bring too low. How in the hell did the surface and minerals get separated in the first place??

If Trump wins and he goes through with his tax cuts then I will get a raise albeit delayed. If Hildebitch wins then my taxes and most every other person will see their taxes increase.

That they already have some of the lowest property and income taxes in the country.

How does some of the lowest offset being the highest? OK is probably middle of the road in income tax I'd bet.

Not sure. It's at 7% in Oklahoma. I was kind of joking about some of that, but I'm sure you knew that. 86 on the other hand.....

Oh I knew you were just having some fun with it but it did seem to slightly touch a nerve.

7% is actually more than I was told. Our state house rep told us at Rotary it was 2% (maybe I didn't hear correctly) and that Texas was 9% and North Dakota was at like 12%.

It's 2% for the first thirty six months on newly completed wells then goes to 7.

Teachers in Jenks who have all the resources in the world get the exact same raise as the teachers at Tulsa memorial who work with next to nothing. It was a stupid proposal.
