An Interesting Piece on the Next Democrat Primary/Caucus Process

Good
Good strategy by the Dems. Run a far left woman who is hyper aggressive against anyone who doesn't agree with her far left, abortion on demand, open boarders, sanctuary city agenda. Blame whites and men for everything and scream racism when she is challenged.

She's going to do well with the unwashed fly over deplorables.
There are definitely those within the party that will have understood what you're portraying, but the farther left constituencies are not going to be put off again IMO. The piece does a good job of explaining why I think she will be their nominee.

Let her be the nominee. If that is what the country wants then we'll have to accept and deal with it.

I have a hard time believing she can be anymore than another slightly more attractive Hillary who can't get middle America but I agree I don't see who the Dems have that would be more attractive than her to the base.

The “base” of both parties is pretty fractured right now. Makes for interesting possibilities like Trump and this gal.

Personally I want Biden so we can see a donnybrook on stage between him and Trump. MMA will replace the League of Women Voters as sponsors of the debates.

Harris will be the centrist candidate in this taxonomy. The states she wins will look more like Hillary's map than Bernie's.

From the article, the most important paragraph:

Harris would also benefit from the dramatic decline of moderate and conservative Democratic primary voters. As recently as 2008, such voters were a majority in virtually every primary state. White moderates and conservatives provided the political support for centrist candidates, giving Hillary Clinton their backing in 2008 and 2016. But in 2016, moderates were outnumbered by liberals in all but two states, Tennessee and West Virginia. The share of Democrats who called themselves “just” liberal rose in tandem with the increase in very liberal voters. A candidate who can rally the Democratic left wing therefore stands in a stronger position than at any time in party history.

She would definitely be on my short list as well.

Few thoughts....anytime someone, other than hardcore feminist and libs, hear the candidate is from CA and liberal, they would have more than a few thoughts of disaster. After all CA wants to leave the union. Interesting what her stance would be.

The ex-rodent in Chief got the benefit of the doubt by many people about his past politics (much hidden by the media), his hope & change line of crap and the transformative potential for race relations. I’m inclined to believe that support is not as deep in the black community again because he utterly failed that segment of society and the general democratic pursuit of the Hispanic vote has to have diminished some of the auto-pilot thoughts the black community has about black candidates.

The national stage is going to be way different than the adulation she gets from the CA stage. The liberal media will still try to cover for her, but how much does that help now?

While the conservatives/R’s are trying their best to screw up the whole shootin match, the progressives vs the liberals vs the moderates is going to be a huge problem for her and the party. I still know Sanders people that are pissed at the way he was treated and the passes Hillary were given won’t be given again.

Lastly 2020 is a long dam way off. It the tariffs work (as I’ve said before mostly against China) the GDP continues to rise and Trump can take a step back at times instead of shooting from the hip all the times don’t see how he will get best, despite this horrible spending bill he could have strangled in the crib.

Conversely, if the economy tanks, we get into any more conflicts or Trump just can’t stop making his unforced errors. He might even be beatable in a primary. One thing for sure he is going to have to completely stop the leaks emminating from the WH, they are killing him right now.

She'll be an 800 lob. gorilla, but economic message will carry the nomination this time. It almost did last time.

Harris won't dominate the black primary vote in the south like Hillary did, especially if Booker runs.
